So in response to the comments in the Worst US Turbografx CD game thread where a lot of people expressed their feelings that they didn't believe there is a bad CD game for the Turbografx.  Let's see what the Greatest one is.  Limited to 3 votes per users this time.

I voted for both Ys 1 & 2 and Might and Magic 3. Both are the absolute best the Duo can offer (US wise of course).

I wish more people played M&M3 really, it is a fantastic western style RPG, but it seems that people are mainly worried about the prices on ebay for it (even for the bootleg version (!)). Shame.

Funny you mentioned M&M3.  I was just looking on ebay at TG16 related stuff and noticed people asking $500 for it.  Crazy price right there.  Glad I bought my copy BitD for $30.   :D

Ys Book I & II and Gate of Thunder were obvious choices for me. Ys was the whole reason I got the CD attachment: it was so far ahead of anything else on a home system at the time graphically and musically. The translation was excellent and it had great voice acting, especially compared to other Turbo CD titles.

Gate of Thunder is one of the best shooters I have ever played, and remains one of my favorites today. I'm not great at shooters, but the difficulty felt perfect for me. The soundtrack is one for the ages as well.

Ultimately, I also went with Dungeon Explorer II. The gameplay is loads of fun, and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Terraforming is crazy awesome graphically with all dat scrolling. Lords for music, and kickass shooter, and Ys because awesome
Switchzx's amazing quote -
"I was starting with the hardest to get games first. I realized I was never going to get Magical Chase so gave up on it all, sold up and got out."

Blueraven's quote - "it begins."

Yes they are, if you appreciate "digital adventure" games.

If you like reading through little newspaper clippings and putting together a mini-mystery then it's fun. I have fond memories of playing through these games with my father when I was younger. They're good, but they're not the typical kind of game you would expect to play on a console.

This thread is lucky that Ai Cho Aniki wasn't released in the US or this would be a landslide vote.

I own J.B. Harold Murder Club and really couldn't get into that.  But it was a long time ago that I played it.  Might have to give it another try.  I've always been a fan of Sherlock Holmes and figured I would give these games a try if they were good.  Are they just one mystery per game or multiple ones?

After I voted I found that I voted for the top 3.  I'm very unsurprised at the results.

Anyone who voted for M&M 3 is an idiot and should go play the DOS one and stop lying to themselves.

Also, can we all agree Magical Dinosaur Tour is like, an untouchable #1 off by itself in terms of "awesome as f*ck"?

I voted for Shadow of the Beast.  The TurboCD soundtrack shits all over the original one.
