Worst movies you've ever seen?
« Reply #45 on: January 23, 2017, 11:49:31 AM »

COOL WORLD - I thought that was a horrible film. Again, another film that stole my money. I think my friends and I stayed in the theatre, but we started talking to the handful of other kids in the theatre.

I'm a huge fan of animation, but not a big fan of Ralph Bakshi films. With that said Cool World doesn't look as blatently rotoscoped as most of his animation does. As a movie, it's garbage but it's at least fun to watch.

Oh, aesthetically it has some really neat stuff (I like a lot of his stuff from an aesthetic point of view)....

...but as you said, as far as the narrative/characters (is it an engaging film?)...  wow, what a failure.

The Lawnmower man was pretty terrible as far as horor flicks go, but not as bad as

"Leprechaun 4, Leprechaun in Space" or whatever the f*ck that craptastic bilgefest of a movie was called.

I got through 4 minutes and then skipped to the ending, the leprechaun is giving them the middle finger from outside the ship. I didn't watch how the hell this happened or if anyone/who died. I was just glad that Netflix had a button so I would never have to see it in my feed again.

Didn't he get sucked out a hole in the ship?  It's been too long since I watched this, thanks for the reminder.

For some reason I enjoy most movies I watch, and I've seen the ones people call shitty.  Probably the chick flicks our girlfriends all make us watch are my least favorite, but at least the lead is usually decent eye candy and they are short enough.

Hahhahahaa!

I enjoy movies that folks think are "shitty", too.

For example, Howard the Duck is pretty awesome, actually. I know, it is a stupid, ridiculous movie....but it is fun and has lots of absurd stuff that still entertain me (I didn't see it in the theatre, but as soon as it was on TV).

I don't think I've seen any of the Leprechaun movies from start to finish (except the first one, i think...I seem to remember laughing my arse off with my brothers over one of those films).

Anyway, the stupid scenes i have watched from random Leprechaun films are far better than The Coneheads.

:)

Its been said already but Nothing But Trouble was very bad which is surprising considering the cast.

Now the movie im going to nominate is a kids movie but let me tell you, I can honestly say this movie is absolutely terrible even by kids standards. Let me set up the scenario for you guys.

Many years ago I was a projectionist at a movie theater. during the summer months we would host summer movie camps, basically summer camps bring there kids to the movies and we will show some random kids movie. The movies were always quite new so it wasnt very exciting work. Well one day the for summer movie cam we got GOBOTS: BATTLE OF THE ROCKLORDS!!!!! I was excited. This must have been in 2003ish and we got 35mm prints for a 1986 children movies! I call all my friends and told them to come to the theater after it closes to watch this masterpiece on the big screen. As you could guess me and about 10 friends went from super excited to completely bummed all within five minutes of this movie. The worst part was since I was the projectionist who volunteered to watch the print I had to sit there are watch the whole turd to make sure there was no screw ups on the print. I guess there is a reason gobots are rarely ever talked about

Hmmm, I wonder if I saw this back in the day (serialized as several episodes).

Of course, I don't remember anything about the Gobots cartoon.

Well, I do remember some character who says "Let's blow this pop stand" .... possibly as a catch phrase.

And that is my only tangible, lasting memory of the show.

I only had a vague memory of the show and toys. They were good memories. Until that summer. The original Transformers movie holds up after all this time but for the love of god if you must watch the Gobots movie at the very least be halfway through an 18 pack. I suppose if you know going into it its going to be something truly awful you may be able to watch it in a mystery science theater way.

Hm, I loved "Nothing But Trouble," I thought that was considered a fun, respected, albeit weird comedy in the mold of and back in the BeetleJuice BeetleJuice BeetleJuice era of the 80s.

And who can forget the iconic Humpty Hump character by Shock G and his hit single The Humpty Dance making it into the movie, where he succeeds in proving his worth to live by rapping his way out of Big Trouble with the "illegal alien" executioner judge digging his groove and letting him leave alive. :P

This is American storytelling and movie magic at its finest if you ask me, I urge you to reconsider placing it in a worst movie category, my fellow PCE turbro... :)

Yeah, I liked Nothing But Trouble too. I don't get why it seems to have zero fans. Few fans, sure, but to me it's odd that it's been nominated by America as its favorite bad movie.

Saw this movie in theaters and loved it as a kid.  Still think it holds up.  Before this thread I didn't know it was unliked, was probably the most shocking thing I ever read on the forum.

I liked it.  It's good, silly fun; it's not supposed to be a deep, philosophical discussion on mores and the human condition.

Um, Nothing But Trouble was fantastic. And it launched the careers of Digital Underground, and Tupac.

Worst movie I've ever seen has to be God's Not Dead. Horrible acting, writing, and all around bad movie.

What?! We have folks defending Nothing But Trouble?

I don't know if I have the courage to watch this again, but it was a big disappointment when I saw it (when it was released).

Now, I admit that I have changed my views on Ghostbusters II (when I saw it in the movies, I thought it was mediocre...certainly didn't capture the awe and atmosphere of the original...but when I rewatched GBII, I actually enjoyed it for being fun, playful sequel).

That said....I don't know if anything can make me change my mind on Nothing But Trouble.

Or Coneheads (horrible film).

Holy shit, I've never seen this flick, but that description basically sold it for me.

I just recently saw Passion of the Christ, because I grew up Catholic and apparently, it's what we do during easter. I thought it was one of the most horrible slasher flicks ever. I'd rather watch The Human Centipide again, as that at least was so bad it was funny.

Glad that was sufficient to "sell" it to you. I masked a significant revelation spoiler in a purty tactical way I thought, hopefully it doesn't ruin it for ya, heh-heh.

Kevin Costner's Waterworld: I really hate this movie, it's utter garbage.

Any Shyamalan movie, especially Signs, with plotholes so big you could fit a container ship and still have room to spare

Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows was also butt-ass
This TV looks like an apple

Ah, I thought I made a mistake there, they used Humpty Hump's other hit single, "Same Song." Figured my memory was off on that.
