COOL WORLD - I thought that was a horrible film. Again, another film that stole my money. I think my friends and I stayed in the theatre, but we started talking to the handful of other kids in the theatre.
I'm a huge fan of animation, but not a big fan of Ralph Bakshi films. With that said Cool World doesn't look as blatently rotoscoped as most of his animation does. As a movie, it's garbage but it's at least fun to watch.
Oh, aesthetically it has some really neat stuff (I like a lot of his stuff from an aesthetic point of view)....
...but as you said, as far as the narrative/characters (is it an engaging film?)... wow, what a failure.
The Lawnmower man was pretty terrible as far as horor flicks go, but not as bad as
"Leprechaun 4, Leprechaun in Space" or whatever the f*ck that craptastic bilgefest of a movie was called.
I got through 4 minutes and then skipped to the ending, the leprechaun is giving them the middle finger from outside the ship. I didn't watch how the hell this happened or if anyone/who died. I was just glad that Netflix had a button so I would never have to see it in my feed again.
Didn't he get sucked out a hole in the ship? It's been too long since I watched this, thanks for the reminder.
For some reason I enjoy most movies I watch, and I've seen the ones people call shitty. Probably the chick flicks our girlfriends all make us watch are my least favorite, but at least the lead is usually decent eye candy and they are short enough.
Hahhahahaa!
I enjoy movies that folks think are "shitty", too.
For example, Howard the Duck is pretty awesome, actually. I know, it is a stupid, ridiculous movie....but it is fun and has lots of absurd stuff that still entertain me (I didn't see it in the theatre, but as soon as it was on TV).
I don't think I've seen any of the Leprechaun movies from start to finish (except the first one, i think...I seem to remember laughing my arse off with my brothers over one of those films).
Anyway, the stupid scenes i have watched from random Leprechaun films are far better than The Coneheads.
