Pc engine jamma adaptor
« on: March 02, 2017, 10:25:44 AM »
So I'd like to see what the interest would be in the community for a newly designed jamma adaptor for the pc engine/tg 16. I have seen them but they seem very numbered and I haven't seen anyone working on a reproduction of it. Something plug and play through the expansion port and controller input.

Uhh, so you can put a PC Engine into your arcade cab?

I'd definitely be down for one.

Yeah, I don't know why I'd want a PCE in my cab either.

Oh, good to see someone is on this project. That price isn't to bad either. I was thinking single use due to the rgb amp being different from standard caps/resistors that rgb ready consoles use. Any reviews on those for pc engine use ?

the pc engine has a giant library of arcade style games and ports. I mean dragon spirit and r type would be great for a home arcade.

No, I wasn't. It seems quite dumb to me. I'm not going play Ys in a cab and if I wanted any of the arcade games that were ported to PCE I'd play an arcade ROM or a much better port.

The conversion systems that were made back in the day make at least a little sense since they were designed to put in actual arcades. At home it just seems like an inconvenience. Now you're playing vert shooters butchered into 4:3. Now your audio is limited by whatever junk speakers are in the cab.

I'm not saying games would be unfun or unplayable or anything, I just don't see the point in spending time and money on something like this.

I guess some of the original fighters and shooters might be nice to have, Flash Hiders, GoT....

It's so you can charge your friends 25 cents a game.

My mistake, then.  I can't imagine anyone thinking that the idea of playing Soldier Blade or Gate of Thunder in an Astro City cab doesn't sound like an awesome f*cking idea.
