Nintendo Quest documentary

Anyone else watch this? I just started it on Crackle. I'll give a review if I make it all the way through.

It was f*ckin awful.

I found the main guy a complete dweeb.
I want a documentary about BitHead1000 tracking down every PC Engine shooter or Chris Bucci's mission to review every TG-16 game, just bascially likeable characters instead of that Nintendo Quest ass wipe.

It's a collectard's wet dream minus what he actually paid for his games. Seriously, bad. I had more fun watching paint dry.

Just turned it off and decided to watch the new episode of Game Sack instead.

I may remember this wrong but I'd remembered before you pay to download Nintendo Quest.
But for anyone interested I've just seen someone's uploaded it to youtube.
As said I don't recommend watching it though.

So basically in the end. He completed a video game library in under a year.

And he wanted the games to have a story behind them.



And he threw X amount of money at it to achieve this goal.



I don't know. Something about completing an entire system library in under a year (when the prices for the games are possibly st their highest) in resell world just seems cheap. Meaningless. The story he was after was his own.


If I am not mistaken wasn't this documentary kickstarted or something to where the people backing this documentary basically paid for his buying the games? 

For me. The journey to slowly discovering games. Finding hem here and there over the course of years has been the most enjoyable. Not just throwing wads of money to complete a collection as quickly as possible.

Sure this person made it a challenge. However what's the point?  Meh to it all I guess.

I wanted to watch it to make fun of the whole idea, but....

it's just so bad.
like, there's really nothing redeeming about this thing.
I stopped after 20 minutes.

I watched this a while back. I was disappointed that he left out how much was paid for games. I didn't understand him setting the harsh time frame he put on himself. I mean some people spend years if not decades collecting all these games. This guy was already a collector. His love for Darth Maul left me suspect of his taste level. Also I don't understand this completionist mind set in game collecting. I generally just buy games I want to play. I mean there was a lot of crap out there.

At one point in the documentary, the main character went on a rant about how he was glad his father was dead after complaining that his father disliked his video games and music.  At that point, I couldn't enjoy the film at all anymore.  If that was what he meant and is to be taken at face value, then it was either a documentary about a sociopath.  If that wasn't the case?  Then the editor left in exactly enough of a non sequitur to misrepresent someone into something terrible. 

Either way, I couldn't enjoy the film afterward.

Yeah the part about the father was really weird and felt completely out of place. I watched it last year when I was home sick from work for a few days.  The level of collectard in the movie is too damn high.  I'll never get people who need to own every copy of some rare game they come across.
