When nerds have too much influence...

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2017/04/11/bank-of-canada-10-bill-konami-code_n_15937926.html

I particularly like this quote:

"The Bank of Canada's web team thought the Konami code was a fun way to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation,'' Bank of Canada spokeswoman Josianne Menard said.

Here is a direct link to the BOC site:

Please discuss and post more examples...

Heh, that's awesome.  It's just a hidden easter egg and entirely non-offensive, so I'd say it's just the right amount of influence.

I think this is a great topic, even if perhaps accidentally. I worry about too much nerd influence. It seems like there are too many companies making million dollar decisions based on Twitter feedback instead of sound engineering.

It's not nerdiness that worries me, it's the fake expertise of the modern nerd who lacks traditional nerd background. Not Toshio Okada's "Otaku Generation" but rather the more modern less rounded western version.

I was just about to post this! So awesome. 80's/90's gamers are taking the executive lvl jobs now, and doing cool stuff like this.

Too much influence would be doing a pinball easter egg upon registering for an account with last name "a$$holeFUK" and first name "DEVILSATAN".

ABACABB is the Genesis MK 1 code - there was also DULLARD.

Ha! I thought Lost Monkey was referring to the Ikari Warriors (NES) code.

That Ikari Warriors code (ABBA) is the only code I ever discovered on my own.
