The aspect ratio kills it for hardcore "real-hardware" fans as well as casuals who don't mind emulation, since there are much better alternatives for a fraction of that price which don't have gaudy coloring.

I know Black Tiger called it "gaudy" ...but I love the damn look of this thing... the non 4:3 screen ratio is a bummer.

Yeah not having this thing in 4:3 is really mind boggling. I really still cannot wrap my head around that at all. It's ok to have black bars on the sides people!

Still pretty cool that it exists nonetheless.

I think we saw a YT video from the guy that made it some time ago.

The color seems to be exactly the same as Meijin's "Shooting Watch" so frankly I can't even imagine a better color. It's...perfect. Totally f*cking Hudson. To complain about this is to forget the nature of...history of PCE, Hudson, and the bald guy in Adventure Island. I demand an apology.

The wide screen is just dumb though, sorry, also with no expansion bus it's hardly an LT2.

Even with 4:3 screens likely harder to source now, it would still be trivial to simply not let the thing run wide, ever, because there is ZERO REASON why you EVER would want to, and then, since the case is also hand made, simply have it matte the part of the screen you aren't using. As it is, it just looks like the guy that made it doesn't understand video games.

I just don't understand who the target is for this. It's not collectible because it isn't official, If you just want something portable, you're better off with a hacked PSP. For real hardware, you could just buy three TE's.

It is a unique item. The dude who made it was having fun creating something.

We may criticize some of his decisions, but I love that he created this.

$750 for this is just nuts though.  That's why the thing even has LT in its name, if he called it a GT he wouldn't be able to begin to justify charging that for it.

Anyone that might want it would know that it's like $70 in parts, max.

Aspect ratio aside, that dude has skills. Most attempts like this look bootleg as f*ck.

Not trying to crap in the dudes work. Simply saying that his self valuation doesn't match the market....like, at all.

Think of it as a sculpture made by Michelangelo.

Aspect ratio on a small screen doesn't really show much but if that LCD had an ability to go 4:3 I would have changed the bezel and covered the unused sides.  A true 4:3 LCD isn't made anymore and can be expensive.  PSOne for example is a popular one for mod use but it is older technology with CFL and would suck on power hard unless someone does perform LED mod.
