So I wanted to say hi to some of the regulars on the forum.
What's going on in your world?  Hit me up!
Word up :).

I've been spending every single spare moment fixing up my new house in New Jersey (I moved from California a few months ago).

I've been doing everything from ripping out carpet, re-finishing hardwood floors, salvaging our staircase, patching the walls, painting, painting, painting, etc. etc. I've only done basic electrical stuff, but I think I'll have to expand my repertoire because I don't like where the lighting is located in a few rooms.

For the record, I vehemently despise carpet installers. They don't have to use 50 billion staples, goddammit. Do you know how many hours I've spent pulling out staples?

I also want to go on the record that I hate the person who decided to use white goopy adhesive on our stairs prior to covering it in carpet. I've spent, no joke, at least 4-5 FULL days working on the stairs, and half that time was spent scraping off this white crap (it was way too thick to sand away).

With my luck, this white goop is a fire retardant made with asbestos :). Yummy.

Future plans: Once the house is finally painted (interior), we are going to demo the kitchen. It's a nasty kitchen that needs to be gutted completely. Yay! I do not see an end to this work. :)

Hope you're having fun with Caleb! Does he still nap, or is he boycotting it like my daughter?

2 things Steve.  One, as a carpet cleaner, I can tell you right now, I know there is no need to be using staples in carpets.  They must've done a crappy job, I wonder if they even used one of the carpet stretchers, or just a knee kicker.  Anyways, sounds like you're having fun

The other thing is, my wife can design kitchens, since she used to work for a few places.......designing kitchens.  So, I might be able to help you if you have any questions.

Anyways, so, what have I been up to?  Um, working on voice acting stuff for Frozen Utopia, but I can't say what for exactly BWA HAHA!  Um, playing games here & there.  I picked up MGS3 Subsistence, & played thru the first MSX Metal Gear for the first time.  Anxiously awaiting various games coming out, like Children of Mana, Sega Genesis Collection, Capcom Classics 2, Yoshi's Island 2, Castlevania Portrat of Ruin(already have it paid off at EB :D ), Dawn of Mana, Mindrec's games, & our own :D

We did recently have trouble with our health insurance.  My wife quit American Vision Kitchens, because, they were screwing her over on pay(especially the commission, which they kept lowering!), even though she was at the top of the hill there :P   Since then, a flurry of people have quit that place, she was having nightmare's while she was employed there.

Anyways, so we were supposed to go on Cobra insurance(supplied by Ceridian), & we were getting our meds just fine for the 1st 2 months, then Wham!  We couldn't get any!  And we had only just gotten our first bill, which was for the first 3 months, & the grace period doesn't end until November 1st, but, they cut off our coverage anyways!  So we sent in our $1100 which we had to steal from savings :P   And, they cashed it.......we still aren't covered!

They claim that once they get it, it takes 1-2 days for them to process it, then they hand it to Blue Cross, & Blue Cross supposedly takes 2-4 WEEKS to process it!  Well, we called Blue Cross, & they said it only takes them 1-2 days to process it    And, if we didn't have Cobra coverage, we'd only owe them around $150 for our meds for the months that were covered.  So, basically, we're demanding Ceridian pay us back our $1100 that they cashed, becuase they haven't even turned on our coverage, & obviously it would be cheaper, just to pay the $150 to Blue Cross.  So, we're hoping & praying somehow, we can get our money back from that joke of a company!

Oh, & another thing, every person that my wife gets ahold of at Ceridian, has given her a different story on how long it takes, & how to get our money back, etc.  It sucks.  If they don't get back to us by the end of the work day, monday, I think my wife is going to threaten to contact some insurance commissoner, which we're told those companies fear.  So, I hope it all works out :P

Let's see, other then that, just been working, collecting Transformers, trying to keep myself off of ebay(though, I did go & re-collect all the RPG's for Saturn, which I used to have, but sold off years ago, that....cost me some money, although I didn't even try to get Panzer Dragoon Saga, too much $).  Our new place is coming together, but, since money is tight lately, can't really be doing anything big to our place, that'll be awhile.

Oh, the wife got her first review at her new job.......&, no raise yet :?   Though, the chick that reviewed her, said that they do give raises, at times when they don't do reviews, so, she could get one, randomly sometime, & they've commented on how surprised they are, at how good she is at her job, not to mention enthusiastic.

Uh, my dad was out of town, & I did a carpet cleaning job by myself.  It's the 3rd job I've ever done without my dad(once was my new place's carpets), so it was tough work by myself.

That's all I can think of right now, just trying to survive :D

edit-Oh, I've also worked some on music for one of our games.  One game in particular, I'm working on adding vocals to, & I need to finish the music for that particular project pretty soon, or atleast, it seems like I'll need the songs done soon

Furries.... that's funny.

So - what I've been up to...

Collecting video games... and yes, you know it...  reliving my childhood to the fullest, including dressing up like Link this Halloween (will post pics!)!!
Also, been considering other living options since Long Island is like THE most expensive place to live in an apartment, even on a somewhat decent income.  North Carolina seems to be the spot that most NYers are flocking to.  Any of you out there?  So you might say that I am ISO a new area to live.  Thanks for starting up this thread by the way Mothergunner, I like to find out more about everyone here since we are a somewhat small bunch.
What a horrible night to have a curse...

North Carolina is too "southern" for my tastes! OK, I've actually only been to South Carolina, but how could it be significantly different? There are signs that say "Don't feed the crocodiles (or is it alligators?) and even the salads have lard / bacon in them! Truly insane :).

I know some folks who moved to S. C. and they love it... but why move down there when you can move into far western NJ / eastern PA. Now *that's* an even scarier place to move, but it's relatively cheap. :)

Well my aunt and family already live there, plus my parents would be willing to go too.  That would make it worthwhile.  We are checking out the huntersville area now.

What have I been up to? Well namely, I've been busy with university.  Considering that I've already promised my parents that this would be my last year, I had to take a good 6 courses (3 per term) just to meet the graduation requirement.  I'm doing quite fine in my Geography courses but my Computer Architecture & System Software course is a real bitch not to mention my professor is half deaf and can't write worth shit on the board.  People have to ask him several times (in a loud voice considering that he's half deaf) what he just wrote and to clarify for us what he wrote.  His assignments are also complete murder and the textbook I have for this course is overflooded with technical information.

Other than that, I'm fine.

Thanks to university, I can't spend much time working on my Turbo games and RPGs so they're just sitting there, incomplete. :(

P.S. My printer/copier/scanner just decided one day to stop printing.  Even with my new ink cartridges, it won't print out the material! :x  I have to get it looked at by a professional and hopefully he can fix the problem because making copies at the university is really draining my budget! :x

Sorry, but I don't see your library card on the books of Ys.  Now, RETURN THEM TO ME!!!

Cute kid you got there! :)

But I think you had a little problem with your camera.  In the photos, your son looks like he has hypothermia.

Radical pictures dude and very cool kid! Did you make the costume or did you buy it premade? Looks great. I was hoping to post a picture of my super ghetto wookie outfit me and my bros made for the opening night of Episode III, but I can't find it at the moment. Will post once I find it.

Thanks Keranu, I did make the costume myself.  Basically modified a bear baby costume, and the rest I had to make, like the spear, accessries, hood, etc...

So, if I was born in Greenland/Iceland/Norway, my skin would be blue too?
