WTB: Working Z77 Motherboard - Socket 1155
« on: July 10, 2017, 01:44:01 PM »
Long shot, but does anyone have an older Z77 based mobo for sale?

Looking for either of the following in preferred order:

1. Sabertooth Z77
2. Maximus V Extreme (non-z or z)
3. P8Z77 Pro or Deluxe

PM me, thanks!

I don't have any of these mobo's but your request has piqued my interest.  Going for a budget gaming rig or just repairing something you already have?

Hi, I currently have the bells and whistles I like except for the mobo.  I have an OC i7-3770k @ 4.5 along with a 1080 ti on a 4k TV.  It runs everything I need so don't feel the need to update to latest gen cpu, ram, and mobo.

My P8P67 LE has a weak VRM and PCIe 2.0, so hoping I can take advantage of a safer OC and PCIe 3.0 lane with a Z77.

Thanks!

What are you currently playing? I just built a new PC (Ryzen 7 1700, GTX 1070) and love it so far!

Oh, the 1080 ti is a loaner from a friend in the pc hardware business.  Will eventually go back.  =*(

Playing anything on steam I can get on sale.  Trying my hand at Fallout 4 DLCs ( Far Harbor ).  This game is great but shitily optimized.  Also got the Ghost Recon for a 1080 I had that had coil whine and returned.

Glad to hear you're liking Ryzen.  I'm still rocking an FX-8370 @ 4.7 ghz and a RX 580.  I sold an RX 480 8gb I had in another system for twice what I paid for it 6 months ago (thanks miners) and built a nice little gaming PC for my kids with a G4560 and GTX 1060 3gb (lucky to have nabbed one at retail).

One of my favorite things is trying to put systems together for super cheap that will handle AAA games at or above 60 FPS.  I recently put together a Dell T3500.  Upgraded to a Xeon X5687, an HD 7970 I bought broken for $36 and revived.  It also has a WD Blue 500gb and random PNY 128gb SSD.  I have a grand total of $215 in the whole deal and it runs everything above 60fps at high settings.  Building PC's is fun!

Yeah I bought the GTX 1070 about a week before prices spiked because of bit miners. I got real lucky!

I have only played PUBG and Portal on this system so far, PUBG isn't optimized graphically yet but I am usually getting over 100 fps most of the time. I get the max on portal all the time (300 fps). I paired the system with a nice Asus 144hz monitor and I really couldn't be happier!

High refresh monitors are where it's at.  I have a 144hz ViewSonic that I love.  The monitor I paired with my kids' system is a nice 60hz Asus I got on sale.  The side by side difference is crazy.

Rocking a Samsung JU7500 that I got from a friend on the cheap.  It's supposed to be one of the best TVs for 60fps gaming at 4K.  He sold it to me since he wanted HDR.  I keep hearing great things about Ryzen.  Since I'm not a fanboy for either, will check out in the future!
