List of games that use the Select button
« on: October 20, 2017, 07:03:57 PM »
I’m looking for a list of games on the PC engine that uses the Select button as an active button.

I’m thinking things like Ninja Spirit where the Select button changes your weapon.

I’m making a custom PC Engine stick and I’m debating if the Select button should go on the face or at the top with the Run button.

Blazing Lazers: Select button changes your speed.

Other than that, I don't think I'm very helpful, but your thread reminds me of this
video about games that use the select button.

Battle Royale uses it heavily.

Why not wire both Run and Select as both face AND top buttons? Best of both worlds. Also, I suggest thinking about going for Avenue 6-pad compatibility, handy for games like Street Fighter II.

I built an 8-button stick and a bunch of padhacked controller boxes that let me use it with all of my 8/16 bit systems. Having II,I,Select,Run all in a row along the top is kinda neat.

IN estys first post you'll see a number of games marked map to: select. all these games actively use the select button.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!
