The whole story sounds like a bunch of bullshit, that's blown out proportion.

So the accuser and this evilore guy used to have a physical relationship, and for whatever reason, they broke it off but remained friends. She gets another boyfriend, and while attached to said BF, she and evilore decide to take a "just friends" road trip to New Orleans.  While getting drunk in the hotel room together, she gets sick and decides to get in the shower. He gets in the shower too. She lets him know it's not cool, and he gets out, and is mean to her the rest of the trip.

WTF? 1. What boyfriend is cool with their girl taking a road trip, with an ex boyfriend?

2. If two adults of the opposite sex are spending the night in a hotel and getting drunk together, I guarantee you sex is on someone's mind. Especially since they had a sexual history.

I'm inclined to agree here.

Apparently, he had been introducing her to people and helping her network for her film company. So she was all good and fine with that.
And they had a consensual physical relationship even after that shower incident. Those are her words.
But years down the road and now all of a sudden the urge is so great and the disgust level is such that she has to speak about how she feels so "gross from having ever been in contact with this person".

Something sounds off here.

Gonna say it: I loved NeoGAF. I never ventured to the Off Topic section, but the gaming section was better and more up-to-date than any "pro" site out there. I was a lurker, hardly ever posting anything, but it was a great place to get literally up to the second news. Yeah, there were lotsa shit-posts, but that's any forum. (Right guys? ).

The story of what happened is also fishy to me. I get it, I get it: he did something inappropriate while they were staying in a hotel room together and after a night of drinks. Not cool. But she went on to actually have a physical relationship with him after the fact. It just seems strange.

Anyway, I've heard that the mods are trying to put together a new site called "Resetera" or something like that, and in the meantime a bunch of members are hanging out at slaent.com. (What's with the horrible names?) But my ideal scenario is that Evilore transfers ownership to someone else and the current forums continue on. There's a ton of great info and resources on that site and it would be a shame to just flush it all.

This is not directed at you per say but this sounds like victim blaming, and I've heard it a lot.  There are two sides to ever story,  And I believe people are going out of their way to tear down someone in power,  I don't think it is okay to discount that she made a serious comment of an abuse of power, and try to excuse him, and even with your clarification that you get it, It's not really okay.  And I know I am going to be on the outside here, but it's what I think.

I also do believe that the story has been "warped" in attempt just to bring down a place that by all means did have a bunch of good members too, and a lot of great of information.  I just think this argument could be made without bringing up her story being false.

He misread signals with his shower blunder, OK, it didn't turn to rape, and they dated and were a couple again after that ? It is a strange story. And IMO, it could or could not be true. If you take it in isolation, there is certainly enough doubt.
But apparently this dude is not exactly boy scout material and carries some "baggage" with inappropriate past behavior. I think that's where folks are mostly already forming the guilty verdict and jumping in now and saying he must have done it.

I just think we need to be careful on taking everything the accusers say as gospel.

I am happy that women are feeling they can finally talk about this and these men should be prosecuted. But they should be prosecuted in court. With evidence, testimonials, witnesses, etc.

In the court of public opinion (and the social media) everyone is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Sometimes they're even presumed guilty even after being proven innocent.

To be fair I also think that "social media" and members have taken this to a tear down level.  And I honestly don't know if he is guilty, he may not be. that is for a jury to conclude.   I also believe that everyone is fibbing to some degree in these accounts.  but I don't think it's for me declare a verdict.   I don't think it should effect the neoGAF site either. What I do think is happening and is a major problem, is bandwagoning without critical thinking. 

To clarify exactly what I am taken exception to:
 I don't think it's fair to cast doubt on the accuser in any manner.   While It hasn't so much happened here on this forum, I have seen several people using this a key sticking point on how she is somehow to be blame. (twitter is full of several good examples) Just as it isn't fair to declare him guilty without evidence I don't think it's fair in the court of public opinion to declare her guilty either.

I used to visiting Gaming Age, then the forums became more popular than the actual site and the actual site closed creating the Neo Gaming Age Forums. I never really kept up with the mess it became later but there was a lot of good information that leaked from that forum. It's a shame if it is gone.
