MSX Turbo R FSA1-GT Boxed
« on: November 19, 2017, 05:42:50 PM »
Anyone have an interest in one?

no pics at the moment, but it is CIB with an RGB cable.  It works.   The floppy drive was fine last I tried it, but you may need/want to replace the belt.  It's a cheap task.

These things are apparently expensive now.   like, 1200$ expensive.   Loose ones gravitate around 1000 or so here, and 700$+ in Japan.

I am selling because I don't use it.  I prefer a different model, and this thing just sits there as a result.

If anyone has an actual interest in buying it though, PM me and I'll whip out the dick pics of the thing.

f*ck me daddy

otay.

lol.

I've had some people ask me how much / etc. and go WTF WHY.

It's the SuperGrafx of the MSX world.   It's arguably cooler at least since it has MIDI and the games for it are kinda cool, but it's still f*ckin expensive/rare/omfgeeyeyeee

but its not a Toshiba HX-34, so it can get the f*ck off my shelf.   I got other stuff to put there, like magazines and action figures.

(homebrew):

Deadite showing off a cool homebrew Mode7'y racing game:

It's kind of neat if you want to dick around with one and still be able to play all the other MSX stuff.

those games look like garbage, and sound worse. wtf? can you not post a better example to sell this system? MSX continues to make me think it's incredibly lame.

I've been shown some better games, I was worried that MSX was actually just a terrible piece of dung that Ark enjoyed out of rebellion.

Those things I posted are Turbo-R only games.   My comment about it being the SuperGrafx of the MSX world is stemming from the fact there's like 5 commercially released games that require a Turbo R and ones like Fray don't even actually require a Turbo R.

I wasn't really posting those videos to sell the Turbo R.  It was more for shits and giggles.  If you're about to buy a Turbo R, I expect that you already know what you're getting into.

Plus, two of the videos I posted are homebrew.  Did you miss that part of the post, again?   I know you and some others have a knee jerk reaction to make fun of the MSX, but c'mon.

F-Nano is pretty cool if you consider what it's running on, video chip wise.

Here's some other Homebrew.
(This ones probably the funnest one.  Doesn't require a Turbo R)

Here's a not yet finished GnG port:

Besides, this is an MSX Turbo R.   The only justification one would have for buying it is:

A) They really want it because they want it to post how they got one online and have no intent to use it
B) They really want to play like 5 games that they probably can't read or will even like.
C) They don't feel like f*cking around with MSX requirements and want the top of the line one with FM built in, all the RAM needed, MIDI if they ever get around to it.. and now they can just shove whatever in and play it without having to see if they bought the right computer.

If you want to see other MSX games, just go look at the other times I posted MSX stuff here or in chat when you were making fun of me/MSX.  Or use YouTube, lol.  It's not like it's hard to look up "top MSX games" and see things for yourself.   ](*,)

Most people get an MSX to play Konami games like Metal Gear and Manbow, and that's it.

They don't bother with anything else, and certainly don't bother with anything from the MSX1 era because it looks dated and upsets them.

Here's Valis 2 on a Turbo R.  It's an MSX2 game, though.  The TurboR isn't required.

Ys 3 on a Turbo R also an MSX2 game.

Fray on a Turbo R:

Yeah I missed the homebrew part - I would never intentionally speak negatively about a garage project done for fun and enjoyment of development - but as you also said I must inherently tease you about MSX until I see you stopping all development for that disfigured shell platform and rejoin us full time in the motherland.

excessive rebuttal

made you trigger ;) gotcha, biaatch

Not really, I mean, it has to be said, probably repeatedly, that this thing is for either Shelftards, or people who just really want to MSX without being f*cked to research, and have money to blow.

This thing isn't really for MyFirstMSXExperienceTM

It's really useful if you intend to buy a bunch of weird addons and go full-tits with it, but I don't even bother.

There's some obnoxious sound cartridges and shit you can buy for them.

It's a hard thing to sell since mines like mint in box.

A goobered up yellowy one was 800$ and it sold.

Of course I want it but with the holidays and the price of a used car it doesn't look in the cards for me. perhaps if it's still around after the holidays and if this extra kidney sells on the black market.

It probably will be.

I keep watching prices to see if they are going up or down, but nowadays, a GT loose goes for 800ish, even in Japan.

They were always the rarest/most expensive thing basically anyways, so it's not really shocking.
