those games look like garbage, and sound worse. wtf? can you not post a better example to sell this system? MSX continues to make me think it's incredibly lame.
I've been shown some better games, I was worried that MSX was actually just a terrible piece of dung that Ark enjoyed out of rebellion.
Those things I posted are Turbo-R only games. My comment about it being the SuperGrafx of the MSX world is stemming from the fact there's like 5 commercially released games that require a Turbo R and ones like Fray don't even actually require a Turbo R.
I wasn't really posting those videos to sell the Turbo R. It was more for shits and giggles. If you're about to buy a Turbo R, I expect that you already know what you're getting into.
Plus, two of the videos I posted are
homebrew. Did you miss that part of the post,
again? I know you and some others have a knee jerk reaction to make fun of the MSX, but c'mon.
F-Nano is pretty cool if you consider what it's running on, video chip wise.
Here's some other Homebrew.
(This ones probably the funnest one. Doesn't require a Turbo R)
Here's a not yet finished GnG port:
Besides, this is an MSX Turbo R. The only justification one would have for buying it is:
A) They really want it because they want it to post how they got one online and have no intent to use it
B) They really want to play like 5 games that they probably can't read or will even like.
C) They don't feel like f*cking around with MSX requirements and want the top of the line one with FM built in, all the RAM needed, MIDI if they ever get around to it.. and now they can just shove whatever in and play it without having to see if they bought the right computer.
If you want to see other MSX games, just go look at the other times I posted MSX stuff here or in chat when you were making fun of me/MSX. Or use YouTube, lol. It's not like it's hard to look up "top MSX games" and see things for yourself.
Most people get an MSX to play Konami games like Metal Gear and Manbow, and that's it.
They don't bother with anything else, and certainly don't bother with anything from the MSX1 era because it looks dated and upsets them.
Here's Valis 2 on a Turbo R. It's an MSX2 game, though. The TurboR isn't required.
Ys 3 on a Turbo R also an MSX2 game.
Fray on a Turbo R:
