Fray CD - an action RPG? Please. Remove the towns and you've got a solid action platformer kind of like Pocky & Rocky. Just because it is overhead doesn't make it an RPG.
Well, you get items, and upgrade stuff, and save. Its like Pocky and Rocky, or Ikari with save points, and items.
Is "action RPG" some kind of insult I'm not aware of?
No, but the label tends to conjure up images of Zelda and Ys (read: overworlds to explore, plenty of mazes to navigate and puzzles to solve).
Fray isn't like those games, but screenshots lead potential buyers to think it is, and people calling it an action-RPG doesn't help. That's why I agree with Seldane on making a point of it not being an aRPG and why I tried to make it clear in my first post in this thread.
