Great show as usual with tracks that I absolutely love.

That sound effect is the sound that plays when you die in R-Type :) .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

That was indeed a great show! Next time I have to listen to it sooner, I'm always too late with the guessing :(

Yerz, I was fairly satisfied with my picks this episode. It's about time I played something from the awesome Super Raiden soundtrack.

I haven't played Super Raiden before or heard any music from it, but that tune you played at the end was fantastic!

Ooh, it's a great game, you really should pick it up. Althought it's not much different to the card version, it just 'seems' better somehow. The music and samplex fx do a lot for it.

I saw this thread and started downloading all the episodes into my iTunes. It's hard to believe I missed out on this for a year.

Great job, sunteam_paul. You've made a new fan here. Keep them coming! I especially like the Wonderboy episode. Do you do any radio work other than this? You have a terrific voice for it, IMHO.

I'm not sure if you do requests, but I'd love to have a "Sega" episode where you focus on tracks from Sega games ported to the PCE (Outrun, Afterburner II, Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, maybe even Columns....or not). I've always been a fan of Sega music from that era. Who doesn't love "Magical Sound Shower"? And what would such an episode be without a mention of the legendary "Space Fantasy Zone" and it's main theme?

Thanks. This is the only podcast I do, though I'd like to do a general video game music one if I had the time.
I have thought about a Sega special show so it may well happen sometime in the future.

Hey Paul, I noticed a mysterious "Intermission" alongside the usual episodes of PCE City and I listened to it tonight.

What game is this chip tune from?

Smilies to anyone who can name it.

I'm surprised you didn't recognize it instantly. Maybe you just rock the game so hard that you play through it in a single sitting and never need to use the Save/Load screen.

Which is too bad, since it's got a nice piece of artwork that you won't find anywhere else in the game (although I was shocked to find it somewhere else entirely different years later).

I think that the song got permanently burned into my brain from entering passwords, even though I probably haven't heard it in over a decade.
