My photo archive thread.
« on: November 07, 2019, 10:10:49 PM »
Hi all. I figured I would use this space to display what I have, and what I collect in the future in regards to my DUO passion. I purchased my system brand new from Electronics Boutique back in 1992, and still have most of the pack-in goodies. Over the years I have lost the obi strip for the box and one of the styrofoam pieces that hold the DUO in place, but such is life. Also, some of my earliest games were subject to some water damage (CDs), so a few show some wrinkled booklets. Mods, if this is the wrong place for this thread, then please move it accordingly. Cheers.

Tony

Gotzendiener, hells yeah! Thanks for sharing; I love seeing other people's stuff when it's obviously being played and enjoyed, not just window dressing for YouTube unboxing videos.  But where's Hatris and Ballface?

Yeah, that's the one.  It's not bad, not like hatris bad anyway.

It's technically impressive if nothing else, with 4 player 3D action.  Suck it, GoldenEye!

Hey thanks! Not my best, but they're adequate. In fact, these are taken with my phone camera. But, post processed using Photoshop to bring out the shadows, adjust lighting, color correction, etc.....

If you really wanna see my photography using my digital SLR, check out these photos of one of my other hobbies:

Ha!  What a cool thread!  Thanks for sharing your pickups, and I totally second the need for Hatris, it's super quirky and fun!   :icon_cat_derpy:

I see a few Tobias specials in there as well, it's cool to get copies of hard as nails to find pricey reliks for good deals, but be warned those are booties and should be purchased/traded with caution. :)

Welcome to the nuthouse!

Please explain....

I know that the Force Gear is from PCEWorks, but what other titles do you feel are boots? I'm not studied in the replica market.

I was gonna say something on the lines of OCD, but decided to try and be considerate in my post(there is a first time for everything!).

I'm sure you'll get some replies on the whole repro market. It is a small drama in the even smaller Turbo scene. Personally, I'll just keep out of it since it does not effect me directly. Others have a personal crusade either for it or against it.

Back on comment about the 1st post; You mentioned you got your Duo back in '92. Have you been playing all these years? Or did it get stored away during the playstation years and now you took it out of retirement to get back into good games or nostalgia?

BTW, I'm fellow Tony here also :)

My apologies, I saw Force Gear and then assumed the Sapphire and Rondo titles were booties as well. :)  If they're legit then that's SUPER COOL!!  Sapphire is a good rare'n!

I got Force Gear as a bonus disc when I purchased the Castlevania Dracula X Belmont Survival Kit:

I also have (2) of these sets:

I accidentally bought an extra set not realizing that I already had it. LOL

The Dracula X that you see above in my list is indeed a bona fide original complete with obi strip. I have two, maybe three original copies of Rondo, but only one has the obi. I made repro obis for the others. In fact, all of my games have their original obi strips / HuCard sponge, etc. because, O.C.D.....

I purchased Sapphire years ago new in shrink wrap. I assume it's legit, but haven't verified it because I didn't know that there were boots of any of these games. Regardless, I do not intend on selling anything. I still have all of my systems from my youth. (NES/SNES/Genesis/Turbo/Neo•Geo/3DO/PS1/PS2/PS3/Saturn/Dreamcast)
