Does the RAU-30 adapter work with the TurboGrafx-16 after modification?

I want to be able to use my TurboGrafx-16 with a Super CD-ROM².

I don't know if that works but if it does, we'll need to get some pic of that setup.

The TG-16 and PCE have the same expansion bus pinouts, so it'll work if you can physically get it to fit.

I've seen people attach a super CD rom directly to a TG16. You just have to file down some spots on the black connection for the CD rom drive. Drive would still be usable in pc engine systems afterwards.

Okay, so I've finally obtained my RAU-30 adapter, and I've determined that there are black plastic "wings" that are getting in the way of it matching up with the back end of a TurboGrafx-16:



Everything else about it is a perfect fit with the TurboGrafx-16 (it slides right in). I even took the metal shielding off the rear of the TurboGrafx-16 to see if it would make the slot larger, but that wasn't the case-

You'll probably have to trim it.  I have a tennokoe that I RGB modded so I could use it with the TG16 or the PCE and I had to trim a bit off on the inside when I had it apart. 

The only other option might be if you could find the expansion bus connector part separate and make a passthrough, for your passthrough. LOL

Those pins are bent at a 90° angle. I'd either have to find one that already has them straight or trim those.

Yup, you might be able to find something else applicable if you search around though.  For a long time these weren't even easy to find if you wanted to do replacments.

Yup, you might be able to find something else applicable if you search around though.  For a long time these weren't even easy to find if you wanted to do replacments.
