Final Soldier

Super late on this one for GotM so doing a game that doesn't require a ton of play time. Final Soldier! Not much to say really. One of the better shooters on the system for HuCards. Probably most peoples least favorite in the series.  I kind of dig this game over Super Star Soldier, and I really enjoy Super Star Soldier. The whole series on the pce is good. Not much else for me to say on this one. I plan to do some 2 min runs as well. Hopefully a few more might show up and get some clears and scores in. I feel I'm mostly talking to you Necro. Lol. So to anyone else. Enjoy!

Woot, a shewty!  I've not put a ton of time into Final Soldier, but I'm down to try and beat it for GotM!

I’ve waited much too long before trying Final Soldier! So far I’ve reached Stage 4. I’m not good at shooters, so the lower difficulty suits me well. The music is amazing.

My best score on 2 minute attack is 357200.

Definitely a game I can get a few hours in this month. I've been hammering at Super Raiden last month, so this could be a breath of fresh air.

I'm not gonna lie, I get Final and Blade mixed up all the time and have to play them to remember. Like Geise, I'm a fan of them all so no hate on any of the Soldiers.

Great choice for GOTM, I recall finding out about Final much MUCH later on in life. I think it was MGC'12 or something where I saw someone brought the Huey and I asked "What's this?" lol...

I played Super and Blade, but never realized Final existed... ugh.  I've not played it nearly enough and this gives me incentive to play around with it some this month!  Wooo!

I've just started playing on the 2 minute mode (before hoping into the full game) and my best is 636000.

Necros crushing it, I'm just barely clearing 600k on 2 minute mode...right now my hi is 609,500. I know missed one or two of the secret bonuses b/c I took a hit and lost my wide shot.

I currently have 1,465,200 on normal. Got to the final form of the final boss but my nerves got the best of me. I'm sure I can get a clear and post a final score later this month.

Every time I hear the music for stage 5, I always sing in my head "♪♫(dadadedumpda) moonlight sonata♫♪" for some reason...I kinda feel it's some tune from Sailor Moon that is stuck in the dark recesses of my brain matter.

There are a lot of secret bonuses in the 2 minute mode to be found...or just look them up. Don't feel to bad with a 300k score, that seems about on par with doing a no-secret run and not milking the popcorn at the end too much.

No worries, I play this for fun! Watched a 700K playthrough and I should be able to improve my score if I blast both eyes at the same time and destroy the circle enemy from the inside. Also, I suppose the priority is to blast as many enemies as possible rather than shooting every box I can?

Still, has anybody got an advice for a caravan rookie?

Early on there's enemies that run away as soon as they're shot, so you want to wait and let them get on screen far enough to destroy them for their points.

Later there's two big, round enemies that're worth huge points (80k each?) but you have to be quick to get them before they escape.

Milk the bosses for points.  You get nothing for leftover time, so try to time its destruction to when time runs out, getting as many points as you can shooting down his projectile things.

I love this game so much. Things have been crazy here lately and I'm rusty now, but I'd love to try to play through this again. I know I was able to finish it one upon a time, haha.

I can barely make it to the end of stage 5.

I think my best 2 min time is 193k

Got to the final stage today on my first run. I haven't played it much this month. Here is a score though. I will work on some 2 min runs tomorrow as well as this weekend.

I'm up to 646,700 on the 2 minute mode.

I think I got a clear in me..... just a few more tries!
