If it's the switch itself, you can bridge the connections for it if you don't want to replace it.
However, if the switch is still good then the problem has to be bad trace on the board somewhere.
There are two places that can normally cause this issue with bad traces or corroded via holes.
1st is around the chip just to the right of the CD loading light. 2nd area is under the Hu card slot. You can just lift the card slot up to check. No need to remove it.
