Games you would like to see made for the Turbo?
« on: September 27, 2023, 12:01:24 AM »

1:   DooM!
A demake of course, but I think it can be done.  Nothing groundbreaking, but something better than Silent Debuggers and Faceball.

2:  Might & Magic - World of Xeen.
The third installment came out great on the system, and with the Arcade Card I think a faithful port is possible.

3:  An action roguelike.
Possibly a blend of Dungeon Explorer I & II, with the isometric view of Goetzendiener.

Any others you may have thought of?

Does translations of PC Engine games count?  There were a lot of games released that have yet to be easily playable in English that I'd love to see.  I'd particularly like to see the Far East of Eden games and any of the nontranslated Falcom games in English.
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

I can't imagine that Doom would be great, though Faceball ain't that bad; maybe a port to PC-FX?

Gotzendiener 2, finished and not half assed?  Fuck yeah, sign me up!

And I agree about more translations.  There's some sweet games that I'd love to play (or replay) in English - FEoE, Cosmic Fantasies, Xanadus, Anearth, Dragon Slayer 2, and Arunamu no Kiba come to mind.

I'd wager that Doom wouldn't be worse on PC FX than it is on SNES.  Take that however you want it.

DooM demakes exist.  Here are just a couple:

Spectrum

Atari 2600

So yes, I do think a decent one could be made for the PCE.  And definitely arcade card!

Also, how about taking that conversion of NES Jackal, and make it a CD game with the soundtrack from here:

How about a hack of Vasteel that lets the bullets travel the full length of the screen?

I'd love to see some kind of deckbuilder game on the TG16. Something like Slay the Spire or Star Realms. I bet they'd be fun to play on an Express.  :pcgs:

Might and Magic IV would've been awesome, but did you know the 1992 classic port (the remake of the original) was finally english patched!?!?

Awesome! I just jailbroke my Analogue Duo in preparation for MGC so I'll make sure to add that to the SD card. Cool!

!!!!! COCORON  !!!!! (Wait, a platformer I actually like?!)
Will we ever at least see a dump of the prototype?

There's also this sci-fi RPG I've only seen in the scan of a magazine page.

And, of course, the Bonk RPG!  THAT one I'd be tempted to play!

Speaking of Might & Magic, I have found some vague evidence over the years that NEC was planning Might and Magic 2. I have yet to find any evidence of any actual pictures or any information about how far along it got, if it ever got started. If I'm remembering right, it was slated to come out about a year after the first one.
