I'd love an Ys 5 on PCE, one that's superior to the SF game similar to how much better Ys 4 is on PCE vs SF.

I've probably told you this before, but that was one of my ideas in the back of my head when was with frozen Utopia. Was reconfiguring the music in my mind to have more of that prog rock sound of the previous games. Also was considering having two play styles, bump combat of course but with jumping! And then a combo system closer to Ark of Napishtim.

But I was mainly working on the music in the back of my head, how to restructure it to give it the right sound.

There was a rumor back in the day that Samurai Spirits/Showdown was being ported as an Arcade Card game. Since that never did happen I was always curious as to how it would've turned out. I would think similar to Art of Fighting since it also did the weird scaling thing. I thought it could've been done fairly well. Final Fight was another I thought could've had a well done port. There were a few sega system 16 arcade games that got ported to the pc-engine. They didn't turn out that well since they fairly lazy ports. Quartet is my favorite system 16 arcade game. I would've loved to have seen that ported to the Turbo.

I would have liked to have seen how a Turbo Grafx chip or Super CD version of Mortal Kombat had turned out. It hit nearly every system back then, including the gameboy. I'd have been curious how it would have performed and looked compared to others during that era.

Accurate ports of early 80s arcade games.  For example: Defender, Joust, Scramble, Pac-Man.  A decent version of tetris would be great too. Ports of popular NES games with enhanced graphics, color, and sound.

There is some dude working on Pac-Man currently, not sure when it's coming out or whatever. There was another guy working on Bubble Bobble but it never got finished.

I wish the TG16 got its own Mega Man game. Preferably something as good as Mega Man X1 or Wily Wars and not that Game Gear Mega Man game.

Ooo, yeah, Contra.  Even cooler would be an original Contra that was given the effort that Drac X received.

That would have been the coolest. I am a little surprised they didn't at least make ports of the arcade Contras. One of my dream projects has been wanting to take the NES & GB Contras and rebuild them with the arcade graphics.

Anything!

I'm not picky. Just jealous of all the homebrew arcade ports and indie games the Sega Genesis always gets compared to the Turbo/PCE.

Genesis homebrew currently in the works.

Altered Beast II  - Where is Keith Courage II?
Splatterhouse 1  - Where is Splatterhouse 2 on the Turbo?
Rondo of blood   - Where is Bloodlines on the Turbo? Or at least an upgraded NES or gameboy castlevania port.
R-Type              -  Where is R-type 2 or leo for the Turbo?
Final Fight         -  Where is Final Fight for the Arcade card?
Metal Slug and Wind Jammers - Where is Magician Lord for the Arcade card?
Street Fighter Alpha - Why no hack of the PCE SFII to add the characters from Super SFII on the Turbo?
Batman Returns -  Where is a Batman game that isn't an overhead bomberman/cratermaze clone for the Turbo?

There are more fan made Genesis arcade ports but I think you get the point.

I know the Turbo/PCE isn't as powerful as the Genesis. So how about ports of some weeker arcade games? Sinistar, Off Road, Tron, Double Dragon, Black Tiger, Jackal, Badlands, Rampage, Bad Dudes, etc....

Indie games
Why no Xeno Crisis, Life on Mars, Eyra the Crow Maiden, Life on Earth, Demons of Asteborg, The Cursed Knight, Hunter Girls, etc....

I'm not a programmer so I have no idea how much work this stuff takes.
So if it's easier and takes less time, how about just translating some PCE games or just making current games better by changing a few things. Like Golden Axe(character sprites+sound effects), Ninja Gaiden(background scrolling), Shinobi(missing sword attack)Deep Blue(ability to keep power ups or maybe just ad more power up drops)? If there are any CD games anyone can think of that have bad soundtracks and could benefit from a new original hard rock soundtrack, then I'll volunteer to make one.

A new soundtrack for Ane san!  I know many won't agree with me, but I think it sounds TERRIBLE!!!

Edit:  Someone did change the soundtrack for Gate of Thunder years ago, but I prefer the original.

Edit 2:  I actually liked (Robotech) Southern Cross.  How about a Super CD game for that?
And what happened to that Saber Rider game that was being made for the Turbo and the Dreamcast?

You hit the nail on the head on several of those games. I'll comment on a few things, but there's at least one project you mentioned, that I'm not allowed to talk directly about yet. But I'll respond with what I know that I am allowed to mention.

Xeno Crisis is a high priority for the PCE. They want to do it on HuCard, instead of CD, so I believe they're waiting for a few developments to be finished. There's a high capacity HuCard in the works that they need. I also get the feeling they're waiting for some more updates on HuCC for them to program the game.

R-type. There is a couple of hacks. One that makes it compatible for the SGX, & another where the original JP versions are put together like the North American version, so that now there's less flicker. Because when the North American version was being worked on, they were forced to make some changes that resulted in flicker.

Splatterhouse 2 & 3. I think those are just a matter of time. Not that I would hold my breath waiting for them, but I think it's more a matter of just waiting for various tools and documentation to help with coding. Would be neat if they were on cd and had cinemas with voice acting. There is the hack of the original Splatterhouse called Splatterhouse Chrome, which is "kind of" a Splatterhouse 1.5.

Black Tiger was being worked on the PCE originally, but was turned into Son Son 2. I do wonder if there's any leftover assets from Black Tiger hidden in Son Son 2's code.

Jackal has a port of the NES version available, but no enhancements.

Golden Axe. A few of us were working on a complete remake of it using the arcade card. I guess I'll say it's currently on hiatus. All the music is ready, most the graphics are ready, there is a working engine for it. My hope is that it'll include enhanced versions of the cinemas from the Telenet version, but I don't recall what the consensus was on that. All the sound effects I think except for one were going to be there. I seem to recall one sampled sound effect that was going to be too long and so we were going to have to adjust it.

Here's some test footage for Golden Axe. The first one uses the arcade soundtrack:

https://youtu.be/JNTbBaIBkyI?si=Afd-E595ELWpnm5f

The 2nd one uses my version where most songs are a combination of the pce version with the Sega classics music. Although there were a few songs I had to redo from scratch:

https://youtu.be/0LK0mJ_Dvi0?si=qJQ1iEtIsstB2d_p

Here's the final test footage before it went on hiatus, it uses the arcade soundtrack;

https://youtu.be/7XP53PUagaI?si=vqhGK5O5eQFHP7xt

Shinobi has a new SuperGrafx version being worked on. Here's the latest footage for that:

https://youtu.be/o5fdQX4xZN8?si=N4I741P7isaOpLCT

I have done some soundtracks where I replaced the songs, but the only one I finished was Sylphia. I gave it a prog rock sound, might ultimately call it Sylphia DX. With Turboxray's help, we added an extra song for the final boss of the game. I want to go back and double check the levels and quality, but eventually I'm going to re-release that.

^^I can remember talking to Rove over ten years ago about Golden Axe. My biggest complaint with the Genesis version was always the lack of eyeball animation in the turtle and great eagle. The "kill" sound sample also bothered me as a kid. You gotta love that Brian Dennehy scream!

rondo, splatterhouse, darius, r-type...honestly not a big fan of how genesis fans are basically "stealing" pc engine exclusives for more powerful hardware

shame the bubble bobble pce port never got finished
i think contra/super contra arcade ports would be pretty nice. im a younger guy without nostalgia, so i always kinda liked the arcade versions more, the difficulty isn't quite as high

i think a relatively simple hack would be "SFII hyper fighting", its pretty baffling pce never got that one. just adjust some code, hardly any new graphics
samurai shodown would have been really interesting to see on pce arcade card, kind of a missed opportunity i think, and of all the snk fighting game ports on the snes, i think samsho is one of the weaker ones, so a pce port can't be much worse
The Skinheads have Taken Madonna
