New user hello everyone!

My problem is i bought a "untested" IFU suitcase off ebay, the pc-e works fine so does the interface but the cd unit does not

it powers up,displays PC and i have done the gear replacement, from the outside of the rail track the laser returns to home and tries to focus but that is where it ends, the motor makes a tiny budge but doesnt spin also

it simply will not read a disk, ive tweaked the pots and turned up what i think is the right pot to tweak going off a member on here called keith courage who posted a pic of what the pots do.

nothing,i feel like ive almost got it fixed and im missing something, caps dont seem to be fluffed either?

ribbon cables seem fine also and are inserted correctly.

the earth to ground on the backplate that is soldered came undone can that cause any issues?

The lens might be bad but, the white PCE CD drives are known to have capacitor problems. They don't all go bad though.

Here are the capacitors you should change. Definitely look for leakage around traces or via holes that might need repair around the 4.7UF capacitors which are close to the volume dial.

And here is a pic of where to start with the potentiometer adjustments. Just remember this is how most look stock.
