Reminds me of Wizards & Warriors.
Which reminds me that I realized the other day how Ghost Manor is a TG-16 version of W&W without all the power ups.
Awesome, I'll have to pick it up! W&W is a classic. (or at least the first two were; the later ones I never was impressed with.)
Don't get too excited . W&W was a friggin' great game and instantly accessible. Ghost Manor is not nearly as accessible... I suspect that you'll have to nurture your relationship with Ghost Manor to get enjoyment out of it. This isn't a bad thing, necessarily, but I have yet to make such a commitment to the game.
Although I love the original W&W, I remember that back in the day I was one of the few in town who managed to get anywhere in it. Just like Ghost Manor, I think most people give up on the first level.
I can't blame them either, given how unreasonable it is from the outset(
just like GH). But like I said,
I love it and its that kind of challenge that drives me to push through games like Night Creatures and Ghost Manor.
