Dracula X Rondo of Blood
« on: March 24, 2007, 09:42:10 AM »
I did a search and didn't come across anything.  I just bought this game off of Bret from his big collection sale and its really quite fun.  I know there is an effort to make a translated patch for the game, but for the time being does anyone have a link to a translation of the opening sequence?  I went to gamefaqs and nothing.

Also in the new game informer they were talking about how non of the moves from the original game were changed for the PSP versian and that Rictor had a backflip.  Is this accurate or was that a typo i don't know how to do it if its in the game.

I'm only on level 4 so i'm not gonna discuss to much of the level details until i finish the game but if anyone could answer my first two questions i'd appreciate it.

Thanks
MP

You have to have the timing just right.

There is a translation somewhere of the cinema dialogue. Its not very interesting, and its exactly what you think they are saying. The German intro is translated into Japanese in the front of the manual...probably that isn't helpful though.

As for the backflip, its basically a "double click". Just hit it really quickly. I've cleared that game more times than I can count though, and I've never used the backflip in any meaningful way so...don't worry about it if you can't get it right.

The backflip is badass :D  Its actually damn useful when you fight those guys that take a long pause, then do a wide swipe. Its a quick way to jump back out of harms way. Also, the magicial boss has a few attacks that you can use the flip to avoid.

It IS pretty hard to master, so its really a matter of opinion as to whether you want to bother or not.

Agreed pretty much it's a matter of timing to get it down.

Doing a back flip while catching the end boss battle glow ball in mid air - love it!

I used to end all my boss battles like that.

Striking a pose is a MUST in Castlevania games when grabbing the orb.  Most of them let you do it from what I recall, but they all require different timing.

Which game displays the text PERFECT when you grab the orb immediately after it stops blinking (i e when it is as high up in the air as possible)? I think it might be Harmony of Dissonance.

Ah yes! That game's staying with me until I die. I'm thinking about making a last boss video for YouTube and calling it "Dracula final battle 2.0". I've grown accustomed to the timing.
