If there is any chance in hell to stop the remake, fans need to take a shot at it. Kurt Russell is mutha f*ckin Snake Pliskin, not some f*cking scottish Dracula 2000 jackoff. These JC remakes need to stop.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I'm not going to sign because online petitions do nothing.

However, I support the cause.

Don't really care...Hollywood's gonna do whatever it wants regardless of what you say. Don't really care 'bout the movie neither, never saw it and prolly won't anytime soon.

I don't support anyone escaping from New York as I am afraid they will flee to the central time zone

I'm not holding my breath, but a remake might actually be good.  It's not like all remakes are shit - only 99.999999999% end up as pure garbage.  I do think that there is room for improvement, as Kurt Russell isn't the most adept actor in the world.
U.S. Collection: 97% complete    155/159 titles

Sorry Mike, but if there is one thing I've learned about online petitions, they don't do jack shit.  This is f*cking Hollywood we're talking about here.  They only care about making moolah than pleasing the hardcore fans.

I still sympathize with the fact that remaking Escape From New York is a bad decision.  Remakes are proof positive that Hollywood is running out of good ideas for movies.  If anything, it's nothing more than desperation to meet box office quotas.

The whole movie industry is now only getting $30,000,000 approx. in box office receipts nowadays which shows that theaters aren't drawing in the crowd like they used to.  I could care less though, as I f*cking hate going to theaters.

I wonder what Kurt Russel himself thinks of all this? :-k

Sorry, but I don't see your library card on the books of Ys.  Now, RETURN THEM TO ME!!!

You know it depends who does the remake I suppose, before I saw Dawn of the Dead I thought it would be f*cking horrible because it was a remake by some no-name, but it turned out awesome and actually I liked it even better than the original.  With a movie like Escape though where the main character is so charismatic and such a huge part of the appeal they're going to have to do a REALLY good job in casting to make it work.

Isn't Russel like 50 now though?  I love the guy but he ran his career into the ground doing shit like Mile High, I doubt he could get a serious movie anymore.

As I said, any chance in hell. If you see DeathProof you will see Kurt is still in shape, even though hes about 56 now. Actually,it would be better to make a 3rd movie in the Escape storyline with him,as it jumped quite  a bit of years from 1 to part 2. It would work just as well to jump 10 years or more again. I agree with Guts too on Kurts career,he has been taking on too many family movie roles, and he needs to get back into what he does best.
He was actually pretty good in Deathproof with his wonky crazy character.

f*ck Deathproof, Planet Terror and the fake trailers were the only good parts of that (admittedly) waste of time and money.

But who can replace Kurt Russel? No seriously...who?
