keep searching ebay, I hate to say it but this may be your only option with such an odd adapter.

go to radio shack, thats were I got an adapter for my duo. They have this one that is 9v 1500ma with inter-changeable tips. Go buy that. Don't worry about the amperage, as the system will only draw out as much as it needs. Peace.

well, the problem is that, unlike the duo, a tg-16 with cd and docking station needs a whopping 1.53 amps (1530mA).  You're right that it will only draw what it needs, but finding an adapter with that many amps is virtually impossible, at least from the looking that i've done.

Rockin Kats is a great game.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I DID IT!!!!!

YAY ME!  I found an adaptor that is 11V DC 1.6Amps! I ordered it and all I gots to do is cut the connector off, buy the right conector at my favorite local electonic parts shop, and solder it on making sure to get polarity correct.

I just did a search on 11v DC on google... found a catalog for a phone order service with a huge listing of  power supplies along with model numbers on  and found something that uses such a power supply that is currently available.... I did a search on google for the model number and found it cheaper somewhere else.

Anyway, the one I bought has a model number of AD-27 and is made by a company called Sunpak.... bought it through amazon stores for $38.79.... cheapest price I found on it(that is untill, after I ordered, if I thought to use froogle for sunpak AD-27 I could a paid a bit less)... it may seem a little high, but it's worth it to get something that will not kill the system or itself.

And yes... Rockin' Kats is fun.

Post again if this works for you, as we're discussing this in another thread and one cat is talking conspiracy theories over there.  There is a possibility that NEC has been hiding a horrible secret . . .

Oh ruddy hell.  Those punks I ordered from took three days to actually get my ding dong package to UPS.  Anyway... It is determined that UPS will have it to me on the 9th... so I'll take my Turbografx CD into the electronics shop to find an appropriat plug on Friday and do the work either Friday or Saturday.  The suspence is killing me.... to FINALLY get to play my Turbo CD games... I've had some of them for over half a year now without being able to play ANY of them.

ok.... well, the box got here... and the little peice of paper that came with it says something other than 11V 1.6A.....

I'm going to test it with a meter after work.... but I think I'm going to have to send it back.

What does the "little piece of paper" say?

it says something very *very* scary.  175V 20mA

And of cource... at that voltage not very well regulated.. indeed, it put out 225V on my multimeter...  Yeck.

I knew the odds that the paper wasn't correct weren't all that great... but I just had to test it..  By the way... the AC voltage in my house regularly fluctuates between 105V and 115V.

the website that said 11V 1.6A was probably refering to something by a different manufactuer with the same model number... or perhaps whoever made the list was an imbicile... but whatever the case... I'm going to go ahead and attempt to return this monster and well...

...I dunno... I'm really irritated right now.... I guess I can try out what they're suggesting in that other thread... though I just hate using a voltage that isn't what is listed on the turbo CD.

There is at least one Radio Shack adapter that will work perfectly with the TG-CD unit. Check the other thread for my suggestion on which one to use. It's a 12V 1500mA adapter. It works perfectly. I have been using & recommending these for a decade. These specs are very close to what the original calls for. I'm too lazy to go check to see what the part number is but it's in the other thread.

You'll also need tip "N".

EDIT: OK, I buckled. Part number is 273-1779.

And as for me, I still plan on doing my amperage test.

oh boy.... I don't like to be the messanger bearing bad news... but your model number is to a discontinued product! ... cuz t hey're discontinuing a lot of their older products... cuz they're designing new ones that use newer technology so they can be less bulky and cost less to produce.  Hopefully they'll make a new model that will be sufficient... it's always a pain when something you depend on being there up and dissapears.

The good news is for me... is that I called the radioshack closest to me, and while they didn't have any, the manager found one was listed in stock at a store.... which they regularly trade stock with... so he's going to have it brought over and call me back when it gets there.  ... and now the crazy thing.. I made this phone call to Radio Shack at 1:40AM in the morning expecting to get an answering machine telling me the hours of operation... I was totally not expecting to have someone pick up on the other end of the line.
