Both formats may stick around. If enough dual format players can be released. I wouldn't mind that.

As it is now, though the sales numbers are currently in blu-rays favour, I have to give HD-DVD the edge.

Many folks rememebr Beta, Mini Disk, etc. Many of my family owned a Beta machine. While they liked the format, no one is too keen on getting stuck with Beta again (I didn't use a VHS machine 'til 1990 or so). I recall the rush to buy blank Beta tapes when they were being cleared out in the late 80's. I'm sure there are others who have had similar experiences with Beta, and may be more likely to look away from Sony this round.

Piracy can help. Always adds another "pro" to the format for the nerdy types, such as myself.

Plus, if pornography prefers HD-DVD over Blu-Ray....

Blu-ray is not from Sony.

They are involved yes, but that has nothing to do with anything. It's not like they're actually designing failing video formats. They did it once, will people complain about it forever? Drop the past.

BR is "pretty much" is from Sony.

Beta is a decent format. I still have Beta tapes.

After posting all those flyers, maybe next time I post here I'll have to scan the sales sheet from a family members 1984 purchase of a Beta Machine. It cost about the same amount these High Definition players now cost. Around $400.00 for a non-Sony brand Beta player. That's without inflation. mmmm, wired remote control....

0xC0, #$C0, C0h for the win. There's just so many nice things about C0 - for instance #$C0 is #$40 x #$03. #$C0 words is 3 16x16 sprites of tile data on the PCE.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
