My CDROM is fortunately one of the very robust ones, and is able to read CDRs burned even at 16x...that's the slowest my present burner is able to burn them at (I have an old burner that can do 1x but it's in a box somewhere, unused at the moment). Anyways, I fired up Mysterious Song on my system this morning, and here's the screenies:
This will also help me check for potential problems in the game code...so far, a couple have been spotted, mainly snowy palette fades (caused by using vsync at the wrong time) and pink overscan (oops, palette index 256). Other than that, so far it looks pretty decent on the real thing, the scrolling is exceptionally smooth (much smoother than in Magic Engine) and the control is virtually flawless. It seems to work far better on real hardware than it does in any emulator, even the cinemas are audio-synced correctly. All in all...success.
