Secret stash
« on: May 21, 2007, 04:09:02 PM »
I just purchased a sealed copy of Sidearms from the ebay seller retrogamespot.  I paid twenty bucks.  It's now a couple hours later and they've already listed another brand-new copy for the same price.
Not only do they have tons of other sealed games, but they also seem to be drawing from a bottomless well of brand-new, fresh-smelling hucard slips.
This isn't a bad thing, as they seem to have singlehandedly reduced the price that bundles of dustsleeves sell for; but does anyone else find this strange?
I wonder how many more sealed copies of Sidearms they have.
They must have picked a ton of gear up at an amazingly low price if they can sell factory sealed Power Golf for $6 and make a profit.  It makes me wonder if they paid less than that for Bonk 3.

It is possible he purcahsed a lot of old stock from Diskounters.

Diskounters printed up more hucard sleeves int he 90's sometime.

Pretty much every sealed game retrogamespot has for sale, were the exact ones Disckounters had towards the end.

I purchased some game from Diskounters sometime ago and they had the exact same price tags on the corner.

I'm wondering how Pac-Land can be SEALED NEW when the picture clearly shows the HuCard case without a box. I think Victory Run is advertised that way too.... Strange, seeing as how both these games originally came in boxes.

He's got Madden brand new for $14.95. How does the Turbo version compare? Graphics, gameplay, sound, etc... I played a bit of Madden on the Genesis back in the day so comparisons to those titles would be familiar for me. Maybe Joe could help out here if he's played the Turbo version.

Worth the $14.95?

In the description for Pac-land, he states that the game is from Babbages (or EB or something) and that they removed Turbo games from their boxes and resealed them to save shelf space.  So, apparently, all of the contents are new even though the box is missing.

I own Madden CD but I've practically never played it because I'm not a football fan.  The graphics are good and I hear it's much better than TV Sports Football.  $15 is half the price TZD charges, so I'd say it's a good deal.

Spare Hucard jewel case + dustsleeve + thrill of opening sealed TG16 game = $6
