Can anyone help !
« on: April 09, 2004, 08:27:00 AM »
First off may I say hello to you all and thanks for possibly reading my first post....I have been looking in on your board for some time now but never posted, however I have a little question that is a little naughty but none the less I would like to ask anyway.  Many years ago when I was a sproglet I owned a nice shiney new Turbo Duo and a white PC Engine with a good few games to boot.  Then one day a nice person broke into my house and stole the lot along with several other systems and computers.  It only now some 9 years later that I have managed to get most of the systems back.  One being a real 100% PC Engine with CDROM.  Over the years I have managed to download a good amount of games for the majic engine emulator.  Whats the question you may ask....well here it is.

Is there a nifty little program that will enable me to put all my roms onto a CD ROM then put a menu on it so that I can put the said CD into the real PC Engine and when switched on it displays the menu and I can just pick the game I want and run it on the real thing ?... I am slowly building up my collection of games from Ebay but its taking ages and lots of money per month.  If I can take ages but slow down on how many I buy then life would be much better as the other half would stop shouting at me for buying them.

Cheers and sorry for the long post
Regards

disclaimer: i don't condone what you're doing, but i pity you...

some folks at www.magicengine.com might feel sorry for you and help you out. the best you can do, i believe, is use the "4-in-1" disc that TTI packed in with the DUO....you essentially copy this CD-ROM, but you swap out the bonk roms with roms of your choice.  the menu will NOT change, obviously, and you have 2-3 roms : CD ratio.  you gotta know how to do all the rom sequencing/burning stuff to pull this off.

i have no experience in this, so don't get upset if i got something wrong.

also, i found this in one of aaron's posts:

First off many thanks for you help and info.  Secondly I did check it out and yes it might work but I really do not have the time to try.  and third !

RE: disclaimer: i don't condone what you're doing, but i pity you...

Please do not pity me,  I will manage to buy all the games that I need for the Engine.  I have managed it so far on the megadrive, CD32, and N64.  I am currently working on the dreamcast and PC Engine.

If you were to see my games collection then you would also see that I too do not condone piracy and would not normally ask this type of question.  However due to the fact that getting hold of the Hucards and CD's for the Engine being a little more difficult, I thought it would be a way of enjoying the real Hardware whilst still trying to find the games that I want, at which point the said roms would be deleted.

Please accept my apologies if I insulted or upset anyone as this was not my intention.

Many kind regards

Hi my friend, Many thanks for all the help and I will be giving it ago as I would like to keep all my original games in good condition.  I managed to pick up about 15 CDs this month from Ebay one being a mint condition Gates of Thunder with the Bonk games on.

So once again thanks for all the help
