For what it's worth, I can't think of a single person who's had any trouble with their save game memory on an NEC system, off the top of my head. I certainly never have.

If you're really worried about it, what I would do is just get a Tennokoe Bank memory card and backup your system's memory every couple days and just forget about it. I really wouldn't be concerned until your system actually stops retaining it's memory. It's probably more trouble than it's worth to try and fix something that isn't broken yet, and may never be as long as you own the console.

I can see your point here. The Tennokoe Bank is certainly an option i have considered. Well, im not paranoid. As i wrote earlier, i just want to be safe for the future. Im really surprised to hear that no one (that you've heard of) has experienced problems with the memory function. I mean..The system has a few years on the back now, so logically the problem should have occured by now.

Forgive my bad engrish

I actually know of several people whose SRAM isn't working due to a bad capacitor. It's a common problem. In Duo machines, anyway.

You'll need a Tennokoe Savings & Loan card if you ever plan on playing Space Fantasy Zone, as that unreleased game deletes your entire file cabinet without asking.

Hi Leg Fantasy did the same thing to me. I was almost finished Cosmic Fantasy 3 too.  :(

We should compile a list of games that rudely auto-delete everything in the File Cabinet.  Space Fantasy Zone doesn't care if it's full or not.  Even if there is only one other small thing saved, it goes bye-bye.  I know there is at least one other game besides Hi-Leg that does it, because it happened to me once before on a game I downloaded from the internet before Space Fantasy Zone.

Holy crap! Thanks for telling me this as I was completely unaware! Luckily I've only played Space Fantasy Zone via emulation, but have been meaning to burn it and play on real systems some day. Yes, yes; we definitely need to make a list for games like this and make the thread in ALL CAPS!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
