I think that their main concern is making as much money as possible, not catering to some cranky old adults.

I still wish they'd cater to both, but I don't think it'll happen for a while.

Looks about as shit and cheesy as the old cartoon's animation.  The movie was always where it was at anyway since its still one of the greatest films ever made, as long as they don't f*cking re-animate that I'll be happy.

Well, since I've known about this new series for a couple months, I can say, at first, I was pissed.  I HATED the designs.   Now that time has passed, even though I don't love the designs, they're growing on me.  Now, the only thing that concerns me is the girl Sari(that's her name).  I'm a little afraid that she'll be incredibly annoying.  But, other then her, I'm starting to think this may end up being one of the better series, as the last several have sucked.

I know they're making it more like a super hero show, more in line with Teen Titans, though, I'd prefer it be more like Justice League.  I know most of your are cringing after reading that, but, after all the info I've read on it, & the fact that it's going to have alot of homage to G1 & Beast Wars, I think will make it a great series if handled right.  Prime in this one is more like Primal, as he's a younger leader, not like G1 Prime, & Bumblebee in this, so far, reminds me of a combo of Rattrap & Cheetor(with Rattrap being one of my favorite characters of any TF series).

The part where they all cheered, was when they showed the Dinobots(Grimlock, Slag, & Swoop), & when Starscream was agreeing with Megatron & calling him "all mighty leader".  Don't get me wrong, I'm still not sure about the series, but, I've had alot of time to think about it, & like I said, I've gotten used to the designs, just the girl concerns me.

If it sucks, eventually it'll be cancelled, & they'll try a new approach with a new series, so, keep that in mind.  But, all the series that have been around lately, were made in Japan, this one, is being made in the US, just like G1, Beast Wars, & Beast Machines(well, BW & BM were done in Canada to be specific).  So, better chance that it won't suck like Armada, Energon, & Cybertron(RID also wasn't the greatest, but, it was better then these other 3).

Chris Ryall of IDW, the current comic company doing Transformer comics(which, btw are mostly G1, & are wonderfully done!) speaks out on the new Animated series movie!

"Between Comic-Con, last weekend's Chicago con, and a trip to Hasbro, plus all kinds of general work overload, I know I haven't been around here much. But that doesn't mean I don't care...

In fact, in that time away from here, I've been making plans. Big plans. And then off to Hasbro to run these plans by the Powers-That-Be. And lo and behold, they loved them and are into said plans. Which means that 2008 is going to be BIG. I don't say this with any hyperbole, but next year's going to really rock your worlds.

These plans include movie-related comics, multiple Spotlights, another crossover, a new mini- (or maybe maxi-)series that will really wow you and answer some old questions, and the big SOMETHING ELSE. I'm pretty excited.

I also watched the new Transformers Animated Movie, the kick-off of the upcoming series, and it's a blast. I actually thought it might be a bit too "young" since it's aimed at the 5-9 crowd, but I shouldn't have questioned Sam Register and his crew--it's a lot of fun, and the characters and voices are great. As are the new toys, that looks just like the designs. I know people have taken shots at it based on the little bit they've seen online, but it's gonna win people over. Especially that first scene.

Oh, one other TF thing--I watched the DVD extra that's going to be included on the Wal-Mart only Movie DVD release. It's an animated version of the entire Movie Prequel miniseries, with voicework from Peter Cullen and others. Good sound effects, cool movement of panels and voices... it's pretty awesome to see our comic turned into something like that. And having Cullen speak our words is an insanely exciting thing, too.

So, yeah, good times are ahead."
