Here's a pic of both Gunhed versions right next to each other. On the right side you see the uber rare special edition, made in 1989 by a company called Sunshower. The number of known pieces is currently at 1 but it's rumored that much more of them exist! I don't know if NEC ever sued them due to copyright violations.

How can you tell the difference?They both look the same.Except the one on the right the color is faded out.It almost looks like it was printed of on a computer.

You can't conceivably call pirate copies "special editions" of the original game, otherwise I'd be able to say I have several ultra-rare Miyamoto limited editions of Super Mario Bros... made in Taiwan.
