How hard is it to get a CD-ROM unit and Super System 3.0 card or a Super CD-ROM?

I ask because I may be able to trade for a CoreGrafx, but I'm rather poor and not really interested in paying out my nose for a CD unit and super system card. But darnit, if I'm going to get the Core I want Super CD games!

I feel stuck. I hate being a poor grad student. Anyone have any leads for me?

After shipping from Japan you need to look forward to spending around $200.00.

You can find domestic deals a lot cheaper than that.

You might just want to shoot for a regular "briefcase" CD deck instead of the pricey Super CD player.

I bought a complete briefcase setup (complete with CoreGrafx *and* CD player), boxed, last year for $145 shipped. Since I didn't need the CoreGrafx I sold that off on eBay and the auction ended at $50.00. So I essentially got the interface deck, CD player and original box for $95 shipped. It wasn't a steal of a deal, but probably an average of what you should be paying if you deal domestically rather than f*cking with outrageous shipping prices from Japan.

Check Ebay for the Super CD Rom. I got mine for $180 with Core II, 18 games and controllers.
I think alot of the newbs look for the Duo and this gets passed over. Or they are aren't familiar with the unit. I always browse PC Engine and come across the Super CD spelled all different ways.

Here's one.

I think I'll skip on the Core then and just wait until I have money, then keep my eyes peeled (OUCH!).

well, they are not that hard to find,, but to find one that works 100% well.. That will be real hard if you bought used ones.

Well, I now have a working core, so it's time to start casting about for an affordable CD unit and Super System Card 3.0  :)

Alas!
