Keep in mind that the 6-button setup for Street Fighter 1 responds differently than Street Fighter 2. In Street Fighter 1, the buttons only respond when released, not when pressed. You can hold "jab" as long as you want but your character won't do anything until you let go of the button, then he'll "jab" immedeately.

Keranu, if you want, you can try this with SF2. Any version should work, including the PCE version. Try throwing a fireball by releasing your punch button when you finish the quarter circle motion. Only special moves can be performed this way in the SF2 games.... it does have some tactical implications, but it's mostly just an interesting little quirk to mess around with.
In SF1, all the attacks are done by releasing the buttons, instead of pressing them.
