Is there a comparison anywhere between PCE and MD/Gen BMan '94?

Subject says it all. Has anyone come across a comparison that looks at, say, graphics and music and such for Bomberman '94 on both these platforms?

When I compared the two myself, it looked like Hudson did a quick port for Genesis that wasn't nearly as good as it could've been.

I think the genesis could have done a better job on the graphics with a better choice of colors.  Oh, i should add for the color blind that mega bomberman is on the left and bomberman 94 is on the right.

I have both. Maybe around Christmas when this semester of graduate hell takes a long trip off a short pier I'll take a closer look. I was just wondering if something had already been done with them.

I actually like the Genesis version better. The jungle song is more jazzy/catchy. And the Battle theme is the same.


Remember that TurboStation site PCEFX used to host? It had a KICKASS techno MP3 of the Bomberman '94 battle theme, it was lo-fi but I didn't care it RULED.  If Aaron still has it I would TOTALLY freak out with nostalgia.

I only like the music better. Everything else is INFERIOR to the PCE version.

I haven't played much of either game, but I don't like the music in either version too much. I'll still try to put together some kind of music comparison soon though.

Mega Bomberman Battle Mode supports up to 4 players.

Yeah they did a craptastic job porting it to the Genesis.

Yeah, the colours of the PCE version shine in this game. But it seems to me that Hudson could have done a better job on the MD version. Though there still wouldn't have been the enhanced colours that the PCE version has.

By the by. I have to get Bomberman '94. I just have the original game that's an easter egg on the Gate of Thunder 3 in 1 CD. Then again, I need to convert my Turbotap and my other two Turbopads so I can get some multiplayer action goin'. Single player just doesn't cut it.

At least they put one Genesis feature to use, adding an extra layer of background to the opening cinema. I'm guessing that there are other Genesis additions, but I haven't dug very far into the games.

Mega Bomberman is still part of the small group of Bomberman games I enjoy, along with the PCE games and Saturn Bomberman.

I own the Dreamcast Bomberman and it's not too bad. I haven't played it much, but the multi-player battle game is a lot better than the single player.

Your comparison really shows how much the Genesis version blows my nuts. Honestly, I didn't remember the graphical differences being that apparent. I just remember how bad the music was.

Apparently Mega Bomberman was a Mega Bomb.
