I have a strong suspicion that the synth in the Sapphire track was a Korg 01/W. GOD  I want one of those!

Why did it get deleted? Do they delete uploads after a certain time period or something?

Here's how it's supposed to work.  If a file hasn't been downloaded in 3 months, they delete it.  But, Megaupload has been deleting my files randomly lately, it's really wierd.
