What the f*ck is with everybody using that term? Butt Rock? And why do they just use it for any rock music that has keyboards and synthesizers on it? Acting as if keyboards and synthesizers are a BAD thing?
Because unless you're just doing Moog leads, or you're doing some Jan Hammer-esque synth design voodoo, or you're using something like Prominy LPC or an Ensoniq TS-10, your rock is going to sound like crap.
Synth driven rock like Keith Emerson or Dream Theater or stuff like that is allright, but if it's just some dude in Spandex with a Korg Triton, then it's going to suck.
As a synth nerd and electronica fan, I must say that synths have their place. An entire rock band is not their place.
