I saw Saul Williams live at a Saul Williams/NIN concert,I was very impressed.

Me 5 fav bands:
Blondie
KMFDM
MINISTRY
NIN
The Doors

The Cure would def be number 6 Guts,actually all the 6 bands here listed really tie with me.

But Hammer doesn't write his own lyrics!  I guess it doesn't matter, there's a rumor that Will Smith didn't write any of his lyrics for his Fresh Prince albums, which I love.

I think you mean people who refer to themselves as "musical artists". Which I've found usually means singers who don't write music.
