So that answers the question of:

1. Why Screwattack sucks

Yeah, I don't really know enough about Screwattack, but man, their site is hardly user friendly. Trying to navigate around that site is ridiculous. I'd rather have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear than have to use that website.

Monkey f*ck!!

I am not a fan of their stuff or anything, and I completely disagree with a few of Angry Videogame Nerd reviews, but some of them are f*ckin great, esp when he reviews a LJN title or like that Texas Chainsaw one.The Texas Chainsaw one was a great parody of Texas Chainsaw 2. Id rather watch any of the screw attack videos these days then pick up any normal gaming mag.

Yeah, I think sometimes he's just being satirical. Some of his complaints like, "He dies when he falls in the water!!!" What's that shit?!!", can't be that serious. Pretty much every game you die if you fall in the water. At least in 8-bit or 16 bit games. Ghosts and Goblins anyone? From some of his reviews I could imagine him giving a shitty review for GnG.  But man that game IS frustrating. I've been known to act like the AVGN when playing that game.  ](*,)

Agreed.  He uses a bit o' artistic license and blows flaws out of proportion, but that's why it's funny.  If I only wanted the straight up facts, I'd just play the damn game for myself.

Meh i like him, he mainly does NES stuff and i was never NEs so it doesnt bother me though the Mega CD and 32X reviews killed me inside, I've seen his TG-16 in a few vids too, then again i've seen nearly every main house console released for the poast 25+ years too, maybe he'll just get around to it eventually, same with screwattack the only TG-16 vid 'Review' they have is Bonks Adventure......tut tut

No, we don't need AVGN to trash our beloved Turbo. He already trashed the Sega CD, which was an awesome system, and we don't need him trashing another great system.

It was?  :P

As for the TG, I wouldn't mind him trashing some crappy games. It's all for fun anyways. Besides he loves Nintendo to this day. The only system he trashes is really the Sega CD and the 32X, oh and the Jaguar, oh and the... hehe.

But the 32X was pretty lame. And the Sega CD really didn't expand beyond the full motion video phase. NEC definitely knew the CD format a lot better.

As for appearance, the Sega CD I actually looked pretty cool, but the Sega CD II was horrible. The Sega CD II must have been cheaper eh?

How rare are the Sega CD I peripherals? I knew a couple people with Sega CD II, but I've never seen I in person.

Its not too rare. Its cheaper that the second one. I got a boxed one on ebay last year for like $40 plus shipping. I thought it was a pretty good deal since it was boxed 8)

Sega CD I looks nice if hooked up to a Genesis 1, but a Genesis 2 looks much better with a Sega CD II, and the CDX looks sexier than both of 'em put together.  The second model was indeed simplified to lower costs and increase reliability.  Nowadays, the first one is prone to failure and therefor, less desirable (cheaper).

The second Sega CD model was ALOT better than the first one. It had a pop open lid, and you didn't need to turn it on to change the friggin' game (Plus you don't have to worry about the drive door constantly opening up again right after you close it!), better start up music, better everything. And there alot of good games on the system:

Sol Feace
Cobra Command
Jaguar XJ220
Time Gal
Road Avenger
Batman Returns
Final Fight CD
Prince of Persia (And the best damn version you can find at that!)
Wolfchild
Lethal Enforcers
Lethal Enforcers II
Rise of the Dragon
The Terminator
Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin
Starblade
NBA Jam
AH3 Thunderstrike
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
Rebel Assault
Revenge of the Ninja
Snatcher
Fatal Fury Special
The Space Adventure
Lords of Thunder

LOADS

Dragon's Lair appreciation. Again.

Ah, so there was a problem with the drive door on the Sega CD I? I don't doubt that there are several reasons to like the Sega CD II, with the most important reason being that there are less mechanical things that can go wrong with it. Sorta like when I bought my used car I made sure it didn't have power windows. Those motors eventually go and they're not cheap to replace.

Aesthetically speaking though, I prefer the Sega CD I. But if I had the choice between a nice looking piece of junk and a not as nice looking system that works...well, the choice is obvious.
