Galaxy Force 2
« on: October 27, 2007, 10:57:32 AM »
Jaw. To. f*cking. China.

Seriously, I bet when people saw this their jaws went to the same place. This is game is THE SUPERSCALER, it's so f*cking AMAZING! There must be like 4000 sprites on the screen at once!

I never thought I'd be so impressed by a 1988 arcade game, but seriously this game is hella cool. I can even forgive the absolutely horrible draw distance.

No screenshot does it justice. f*ck polygons, I want 3D games to be made like this. The Genesis port is utter shit, but the Saturn port rules (at least IMO).

And the SEGA Ages version is INCREDIBLE, it even has the badass Shaft sample at the start of level one:

Have you ever played the arcade version of Space Harrier? That's pretty f*cking impressive for 1985, the same year SMB came out. Same scaler technology.

Same scaler technology.

No, Y Board is more powerful. And I spent over $400 in quarters on Space Harrier when they had it in the pizza place.

Also Rail Chase pwns as well.

This and the arcade Thunder Blade are both visually quite impressive.  Both only have 4 stages I think.  WTF?  Anyway the scaling in the arcade Galaxy Force kind of reminds me of Soul Star on the Sega CD which you may have seen in my   Booya!.

That's funny since Thunder Blade was always such an utter disaster every time it got ported to a home console.

Thunder Blade is a crappy game even in the arcade.  It just LOOKS really, really cool.

I own this game, dipshit.

And the only thing I hate more than a dipshit is a dipshit who can't read the first post in a topic. See the first post for mention of  the Saturn port, as well as a video.

Perhaps they just burn Gamecube discs and stick them in plastic cases. :P Or maybe Helgeson's talking out of his ass.
