I bought tickets the day the announcement was made.

I'm gonna go take my dad, who got me into Star Trek in the first place in, like, 1985.

I'm going with my sister to the showing on the 13th at 7:30pm...pacific place.

I'm going on the 15th showing, though I might be going to the 13th as well. I have to share the experience with as many people as possible. hehe  :)

Ahh, shit, we're going to Everett. We should have co-ordinated and made it a group event! :)

Oh man!! That's sweet!! Not in Canada though.  Oh well, I'm not going to complain too much. I'm just happy Star Trek is going to be showing.  :)

....but man, BSG on the big screen would be fantastic though....grumble...grumble...but I'm not complaining!  :P

Did they ADD footage?  That's the only way it could be 2 hours.  Otherwise it'd be about 1 hour and 42 minutes at most (unless they include the opening and credits twice, plus teaser).  Also don't be sad if it has black bars on the side.  Star Trek is not widescreen, it's 4:3.  If they blew it up then they destroyed the original composition.

Also, I imagine this will probably only be shoeing at art theaters or somesuch and not have an actual regular engagement.

Ewww... they're showing it on HD video instead of film.

Yeah-- it will be HD, it will surely have black bars on the side, and the extra 18 minutes probably has something to do with the fact that there is going to be some kind of opening commentary.

Yea its going to have a special at the beginning of it. They previewed it at the Halloween 4 and 5 showing. I am considering seeing it. $10 to see old eps on the big screen is worth it.

Exactly. The black bars on the side won't bother me. It'll just be cool to see and hear it in the theatre.

Unlike a home TV, it's not like you're going to be actually seeing the sides of the screen that the image doesn't cover, anyway. It's going to be in a dark theatre.

Unless the theater has side masking that can come in far enough for 4:3 (99.9% of theaters don't), you'll be seeing empty screen space.
