Well well well, I am SO glad I FINALLY got to acquire this PS2 collection of one of SNK's best franchises. Art of Fighting 1 and 2 are two of my favorite SNK titles, and if I had an MVS with 6 slots, these would be the games in them:
Art of Fighting
Fatal Fury Special
Blue's Journey
King of the Monsters 2
Galaxy Fight
King of Fighters '96
Anyway, Art of Fighting probably needs no introduction. It was one of the most popular and biggest hits on the Neo Geo. Ryo Sakazaki and his friend Robert Garcia go to rescue Ryo's sister Yuri, who was kidnapped! Another thing that made AOF unique at its time of release was the zoom, or scaling or whatever. Plus it had a great challenge. It made sure that you didn't just rely on special moves all the time to try and earn victory, and the challenge is part of what makes it fun! Art of Fighting 2 is a great sequel in which you don't get to just play as Ryo or Robert, but you can play as any of the characters from the previous one (except Todo), plus Takuma Sakazaki and a new guy named Temjin. Must not have been as successful as its predecessor though, because I've never seen the MVS cart of AOF2 on eBay, and the only version of the AES version I see on there is the japanese version. Still, it's an awesome sequel. Art of Fighting 3 is alright, but I only played it once and don't recall enjoying it as much as the previous two.
As for bonus features, the disc doesn't really have any except for this color edit mode (YAY!), and that's pretty boring. They could've added more than that. Anyway, in conclusion, this is a great collection, and you can get it new for only $14.99, or possibly even less! Depending on where you buy that is. Couple of things were changed, like the "How to Play" sequence is removed, and during the bonus stages, it only displays the english title and not the japanese title too, and the speech samples in the cut scenes are removed. I haven't tried the other two on the collection yet, so I can't determine if they're the same way.
