DRAGON'S LAIR
« on: November 09, 2007, 05:45:17 PM »
Every once in a while, I WILL catch the "Laser Game" bug, and get obsessed with games like Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Astron Belt, Cobra Command, Time Gal, and others. And this is one of those times. I never did get to acquire the DVD/PS2 DL game by Digital Leisure. DL is a legend. It's hard, yes, but fun! And Princess Daphne is one of the sexiest princesses ever drawn. I have this PC disc with DL I & II and Space Ace on it, but I think I'll have more one with one of the PS2/DVD ones. :D Now when the hell is Digital Leisure gonna do PS2/DVD discs of Cobra Command and Time Gal?

Dragon's Lair appreciation. Again.

Screw that, I have an email confirmation that Digital Leisure has the rights to Brain Dead 13, when are they going to make discs of that!?

Why do you say PS2/DVD?  It's not like one format is bound to the other.  Dragon's Lair exists on DVD and is quite playable that way.  Games like Time Gal, Cobra Command  (Thunder Storm), Road Avenger (Road Blaster) and the like can't be done on generic DVD because they have fire or action buttons.  Cobra Command requires a movable crosshair.  A DVD player can only accept one command at a time, and with Dragon's Lair that is a direction key and not a problem.

Theoretically, you could remake Dragon's Lair using HTML and embedded Youtube videos!

It'd be far easier to just make a Flash video that can be clicked on directly or recognize keyboard input.

But it would be funny to see Dirk walk up to something, the screen freezes and a page opens up with UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT SWORD links,  You click on one and it directs you to the proper video.

The Turbo is a video powerhouse!  Which would you rather have, China Warrior on HuCard or Aliens Deluxe Ultra Extreme Director's Cut Collectors Criterion CAV Edition 2.1 with the Gaffer's Commentary on LaserDisc?  Yeah.  Thought so.
