Trying to think of a PCE/Turbo game...  Hmm.....

Exile II (US version).  This one kicks my ass.  I did get to the last level boss IIRC, but that was like 10 years ago.  I gave it a light go a few months ago, and I couldn't even pass the first action-based stage before I threw in the towel again.

Startling Odyssey II-When you get about half way through the game, you go into this dungeon with A bunch of conveyor belts. You just keep going around and A around on the damn things. You'll fall through holes in the floor,in which you take ladder back up and do the whole thing over again.

Blood Gear-I got stuck in A certain point in this game, and was unable to proceed.I believe it was discussed in here on how to get past that part.I didn't care enough to go back through and play it again.

Nexzar-The game kicks ass,its impossible to avoid being hit or destroyed. The game play reminds me of Magician Lord.In terms of the enemies just relentlessly attack every two seconds.

Yeah if you read my post, I'm also stuck. I really need to boot up my game and describe the situation so others can help us out.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yeah that would be cool.I haven't played that game in A long time.It would be even better if some one would translate it.

Yeah, post about the situation and I'll try to help you out.  Is it the infamous part where you can go to three different towns and an action scene with a corridor that fills with water?  Everyone seems to get stuck there their first time through.  I took some notes on that part when I replayed the game a few days ago, so I can probably be of some assistance.

That sounds like it, but I'll get back to you on it once I get off my ass and load the game.

Image Fight.  Damn.  I'm able to beat all the levels- but not without getting hit with the penalty zone after the last which is why I haven't seen the ending.  That penalty zone.  Ack.  I feel I almost beat that zone too but its ludicrously frustrating and I'd rather not face it again anytime soon.

I agree with Nat on R-type completely.

Son Son II owns me.  I've gotten very close and I've played it a lot- just can't close the deal.  Great game.

Gomola Speed definitely makes a clown out of me.

  The first 5 levels in Image Fight are only the training missions. There are 3 more levels after the training levels.

I would say "I hate to break it to ya" but I would be lying. The challenge is a big part of why I enjoy the game so much.

And how sweet is it that there is a penalty zone?!?! I love that!

I've never managed to clear it myself. Is it possible? :?: 8-[

Yeah, Image Fight threw me off when I finished stage5 the first time. I was like "dude, I pwned you, you googly eye freak. It's finally over" and then..."what? It ain't over yet?"

I get my ass kicked in stage 6 all the time. It's tough, I've only been able to pass the meteor shower once. Even on the FM-Towns port they give you no quarter.

How does the FM towns port compare to the Arcade?

Really good. Music and graphics are nearly identical to arcade. My only gripe it's in wobble mode instead of tate.

I posted video of it months ago over here - http://www.vimeo.com/user154778/videos

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! You're right about the graphics and music. The instrumentation for the music sounds very similar, if not the same as, the arcade.

Very interesting that the FM Towns version lets you scroll down the screen.... that's a pretty drastic difference from the PC-Engine version. It seems like the game actually maintains the aspect ratio of the arcade version but instead of smooshing everything the camera pans down to the area that doesn't fit on screen!

Yup, the aspect ratio is exact if it was on vertical monitor, but you only see half of the playing field depending on your position. This is known as wobble mode, and it can be irritating (at least me anyway it hard to adjust)
