I really know next to nothing about the system, but it looks... interesting.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

No, and no.

It might be more fun than a PCFX though.

The Playdia looks 100% crappier than the PC FX.

Looks like it wanted to be a PC-FX, though (which itself wanted to be like the US Sega CD).  Mostly animated video with very little interactivity.  I don't know if I'd dare pay xxx yen for it, though.  That's a god damn lot of yen!

It would be cool to get a hold of a Playdia and a game, find out what it's using for video and as a "for the hell of it" project, make the world's most retarded VCD player.

it's sad that I know exactly what you're talking about when you say xxx yen.

I don't have one, but I've heard of it before, and tried to remember what it was called before now. Wouldn't mind playing one.

Dragon's Lair appreciation. Again.

Probably cool just to try out, but face it the Playdia is dollar bin system. It ranks right up there with 32X (well, actually the 32X can be elevated higher b/c it has games) but unless your a DBZ fan or a cheese ball like Keranu you really don't want to buy one of these.

The console has an extensive library of children's games and hentai.  Great mix.

And yet no loli. Go fig.  :-k

On a serious note, could somebody post the file structure of a Playdia disc (any disc), with filenames? I don't need an ISO, I'm just curious of how this works on the software side of things.

Oh and no Dragon's Lair, what's up with that?

One reason: Bandai RULES! They actually managed to fight off those parasites who wants to release that crap on every system in existance.

I wish they'd released that 'crap' on HuVideo, but they didn't and that's why I like kicking hobos.
