I don't know the name of a single break.  Anything I've done, I just do, I don't pay attention to names, dates, places, & things, I just do whatever I want, so, names speed by without a second thought.  With that said, that beats in a million songs, & then some, so, ofcoarse I recognize it, now I know what it is :D

Dang.  I had this big thing where I forgot my password and kept unsuccessfully trying to reset it.  Kept telling me activation code was inactive or whatever.  Finally got it reset correctly.

Anyway- a week later- to answer your question- It's the regular castle music.  I put it a little uptempo and plan on doing a little rap over it.  I'll let you guys know when it's finished.

More on Crimson- they are my all time favorite.  I've seen them twice in NY, and I've seen Adrian Belew three times- amazing amazing amazing shows.  Tony Levin is now back with Crimson and hopefully he breaks out some funk fingers again.  Never really heard much of Dream Theatre- sorry.  in the way of prog I do also like SOME Van Der Graaf Generator, some Gentle Giant.

I used to really like Hip-hop: Rakim, Slick Rick, EPMD.  Most of today's is just garbage.  I fully understand if someone isn't into it at all.  BTW- that link no longer will get you to the song I did with Legendary Axe- but you can find it from there if you're willing.

As for an instrumental of it- it is only on my beat-to-shit zoom sampletrak and at the studio- if I have time at the studio and get a copy of just the beat I'll make sure to send it to you...

haha. Awesome!  EPMD was awesome. All those were awesome. I also liked De la Soul, Maestro Fresh Wes (Canadian), Public Enemy (I hear the new album is quite good.), and Boogie Down Productions (BDP)/KRS-One.

Today, the only hip hop I really listen to is from k-os, another Canadian. I cannot recommend his album "Joyful Rebellion" enough. I haven't picked up his latest album yet, but I hear it's really good.

Here's his site:

I will have to check that out- and all the othre oldschool cats you mentioned were also my other favorites.

Now the only hip-hop I really listen to is Wu-Tang, Kool Keith and some underground guys like Cage and Quel...
I love Wu because they create their own universe- as does Kool Keith.

yeah EPMD really was the shit.  Erick Sermon had some of the best beats for sure.  I see that they're doing another album.

I like Kool Keith, & how random he gets, but, it seems like most of his stuff is too dirty for my tastes.  If anything, you should check out Aceyalon's album A Book of Human Language.  That album is so damn good, it's converted people that hate rap in general, to respect true hip hop.  Anything from Aceyalone is dope, but, the main one is A Book of Human Language.  Eligh is also really dope, pretty much anyone having anything to do with Project Blowed, absolutly rules.

you're probably the guy that just e-mailed me on myspace wondering where the track is- it's here now-
http://www.myspace.com/marvingardensprojectsatan
I'm gonna finish the track up Monday because there's a couple of weak finishing vocals in there.  By the way if anyone wants a free copy of my last CD then just give me your address.  It sounds a lot crazier than this stuff and includes an eight and a half minute three part adaptation of Poe's The Cask of Amontillado.  I also made a point of not saying "yo" once on that disc and not to feature any other "vocalists".  Even if you're not into hip-hop you may get something out of it.

BTW you're right- rap does suck now.  Not that I feel reggaeton is any better (though Shabba and Cutty Ranks back in the day were the shit)- I certainly don't.

Could you maybe just upload it, so you don't have to spend money on sending out a cd to people who want to hear it :)  You could just upload it to File Factory or something like that.

oh I wouldn't be spending anything.  My job would.  :)  Plus I have 100 extra cds lying around.
