Hip Hop Song Made From Legendary Axe
« on: November 21, 2007, 06:42:23 AM »
Or should I say part of a hip-hop song- part one of a four part 7 and 1/2 minute underground hip-hop track as told by the Seven Deadly Sins.  I do vocals in it (1/2 of first verse and all of third) in case anyone is wondering.  If you'd like to hear it then just click my name and then website- or just go to it from here- http://www.myspace.com/marvingardensprojectsatan -I promise I wouldn't waste your time with street garbage.  I've been doing this for at least seven years and I'm quite good at it.  In the past I've done adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe stories- actually The Cask of Amontillado (in three parts) is featured on my page as well.

Kudos to whoever can tell me what Legendary Axe stage the music is from without reading it on my bulletins and what-nots.

Yes I am a very different kind of geek.

Pretty cool, you can deffinitly can rhyme!  I would've chosen a different song from LA(btw, I believe it's the final level).   I know I would've done things differently, but, whatever inspires you to rhyme!  I don't remember if I've made anything out of anything from either of the LA's before.  As for me, I've been doing this for over 20 years, & I still haven't taken the time to really record any of my lyrics, & quite frankly, I just haven't had the time, but, our Dragon Arm game will be all underground hip hop(none of that nonsense heard on the radio) & pseudo drum n bass.  And I'm planning on finally recording lyrics for once, for the ending credits.  But, I've given up doing it professionally, even though I do/did have some connections(haven't spoken to them in a few years now), mainly Awol One & Jizzm.  I do see Aceyalone & Ab Rude every so often, but, I'm not super close with them.  For some strange reason, they always remember my name, I don't know if my facial features just stand out, or what, but, it's nice to be remembered.  I used to talk to Panda One of Animal Pharm, who started up Goodvibe, but, it's been ages since I talked to him as well.  Anyways, that's enough name dropping for now   I hope you are successful in whatever you want to accomplish with your music :D

This song is so sick, awesome job! Sounds very professional too!

On a sidenote (with shameless self promotion), here is my written, crappy Toe Jam & Earl rappin' review.

K, as your buddy, here's some advice, you need to learn how to not rhyme on 4 measure's, if you know what I mean.  Basically, you gotta learn how to rhyme, at different lengths of time(sometimes, you don't even haev to rhyme at all).  From there, you make up your own style as you go.  That's especially if you end up rhyming on the ending credits song for Dragon Arm :D

edit-An example, you might sometimes rhyme words, that are only 1 measure away from eachother, while other times, they'll be 8 measures or more.  But what you have looks like a constant 4, not sure if I'm explaining it right though.  Here's something you can try, to test yourself.  Take a book or something, where, it's not meant to rhyme, nothing that has any poetry.  Then, try to make it rhyme.  Make the speed of how fast you are flowing vary, & find new ways to say words.  Example, the book of Psalms, originally, in Hebrew, it rhymed, but, in other languages, it doesn't because of translation.  However, you can as a lyricist, find a way for it to rhyme.

Even though I don't know much about this stuff, that review was something I quickly wrote up just to get out. It was sort of just throwing together various lines that popped in my head while thinking of way how to review a game by rhyming it. I think I understand what you mean though about the measures and the inconsitency of my review irritates me.

Speaking of rhyming religious books, you gotta check out the Arabic Quran! Part of it's beauty is the way the words rhyme and flow, making it very easily to remember and lovely to pronounce.

That's very interesting! I didn't know that the Psalms rhymed in Hebrew. The Psalms were largely taken from pre-existing Egyptian heiroglyphs so that's very interesting that it rhymed when written in Hebrew.

A quick look at Wikipedia suggests that the Psalms came largely from Hebrew and Greek manuscripts and not from Egyptian hieroglyphs. Wikipedia is not always correct, but the article on Psalms is decently detailed. What source told you the psalms were from hieroglyphs?

Maybe he's thinking of the song of solomon or something like, I know the Psalms definitely did not come from egyptian heiroglyphs.

Nice LA sampling and rhyming Sinistron.  Let me know if you're ever want to do some shows in the Maritimes (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island). There's a big hip hop community here in Halifax and you'd have a big turn out.  :)

Oh and Keranu. Don't listen to the haters. hehe. I liked your Toe Jam and Earl review.
