Not sure about that.

The most recent Valis game, however, Valis X was released by Telenet themselves and was a hentai game. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Telenet went bankrupt less than a month or two ago and I hadn't heard that any of their IP had actually been auctioned off yet.

Are you sure it was actually released by Telenet? I thought prior to closing they had sold most of their IP already.

EhhL I just looked it up via wikipedia I guess they DID make that.

This reminds me of the "repair weapon" function in Shining Force 1, 2 and CD.  I never ever had a broken weapon in any of those games.
Consider that a good thing since "repairing weapons" in video games is a retarded idea to begin with.

Haha, I like how you refer to Valix X as "that"  .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

No kidding, especially games where it's completely random. Nothing beats saving up all your gold or whatever currency the game uses for a big item, buying it and having it break a battle or two in.

Yeah, having to repair weapons is dumb.

However...

This means you weren't exploiting the game good enough, you are no Shining Force expert.

Whoops I screwed up my joke. I confused "Dan" with "Dyne", or else I would've said Alex took your spot as Dragon Master.

Yes I am.  I beat it with Max on level 1 with absolutely no companions or upgraded weapons and I never died or even took a hit due to my extreme awesomeness.

Not bad at all, but in order to be the level of leetness only I possess, you must beat the game without ever even turning it on. Only then can you truly be called a master. Fight on, young grasshopper!

Anyone who thinks the US CF2 would've benefitted from these sorts of things can start up a game of PCE CF1 and see how much "fun" comes from their inclusion.

If anyone thinks the game may have been better off with the status effects and they are a fan of CF2, why not just play the $5 PCE CF2?

You can experience some other reported missing things like the floppy disk.

They can, but I meant if they wanted an idea of how effects would impact the system but didn't want to play the same thing again.

I found this article about telenets history, it's kind of neat.
