Spinning naked woman

While waiting for Dean's list here's some brain garbage.
Which way does she spin. I see counter-clockwise most times.

look at her shadow under her spin. After that she goes counter clock wise.

I can do it both ways since my brain is awesomely powerful.  But ignore the sites that tell you if you see it spinning one way, you are using one side of your brain more than if you are seeing it spin the other way.  That's BS.

When I looked at this earlier it was plain to me she was turning clockwise. I couldn't see it any other way no matter how hard I tried.

After turboD pointed out the shadow trick, sure enough, she started going counter. That's f*cked up.

Whoa I had no idea how anyone was seeing anything but counter-clock wise like I was until I read this post. Now it just sorta of switches whenever it wants to when I look at her feet.

I think I'm broken or something, even with the shadow trick all I see is counter-clockwise.

That's what I thought too. Try looking at it so it doesn't look like she's actually spinning 360 degrees, but in a 2D sort of where the image just kind of "folds" to give that effect, if you know what I mean. Whenever I look at it naturally, the first direction I see is counter-clockwise.

keranu explained it the right way. the whole trick is based on a folding/bumping 2D object without any textures or shadows. that's the way it works. remember the folding metal plate enemies which appeared in xevious, uridium or several other 80s shmups? they used the same trick.

 weird. the first time I saw it, she was spinning one way (out foot into the spin); i read the thread, went back, and it was spinning the other way (foot trailing).

We should wait until she barfs and see where it lands and what kind of pattern it makes. This scientific data would be most useful in determining once and for all which way she spins.
